We'll have to see how it ends up. But one day I would like to feel like they are playing chess not checkers.Yes our boosters and compliance never learn and are way behind the cutting edge schools. Then put it out there our boosters don’t want to give or are broke. Then the poorest state in the nation with two D-1 football program pays their starting DL $5mm a year.
Damn. This hurts more than losing Davis.
Feel like they’re playing connect 4 tbhWe'll have to see how it ends up. But one day I would like to feel like they are playing chess not checkers.
Or they didn’t want anybody Nebraska had. Seems like they were right about that.Yeah because when Tony White and Pot Roast left last year for FSU they took ... *checks notes* ... the absolute stud duo of Stefon Thompson and James Williams.
There's just no guarantee it plays out like that.
I will say I am surprised by the amount of overall discontent with our portal so far.My God !!!
The RSS-like whining and bitching is reaching an all time crescendo ITT for a non-game thread.
Other than Keona i dont think anyone will be upset with the departures.I will say I am surprised by the amount of overall discontent with our portal so far.
I’m sure a lot of it has to do with lots of commits announcing today, but there’s still a long ways to go.
Get a few more commits announced for us and I’m thinking it’ll die down a bit.
I’m disappointed in what appears to me as Nebraska either A) refusing to play the game or B) not able to play the game properly when it comes to player acquisition over the past few years, not just this current.I will say I am surprised by the amount of overall discontent with our portal so far.

Seems to me Nebraska is stuck between wanting to be Cockeye or Texas Tech and isn’t good at eitherI’m disappointed in what appears to me as Nebraska either A) refusing to play the game or B) not able to play the game properly when it comes to player acquisition over the past few years, not just this current.
Nebraska calls itself a blue blood, says they have the best fan base in America and acquires talent at a Kansas St level.
The excuse of “well they have more money” or “well they are the hot team right now” shouldn’t be acceptable. Does Nebraska want to compete or not? You can not compete with this type of talent acquisiton.
He was a hot commodity that had no interest in going to Texas Tech until they put a number in front of his agent that made him become interested in Texas Tech. That was the point of the comment I made - apologize if it wasn’t clear in how I laid it outI agree with most of this post, except the David Bailey portion - he was most definitely a hot commodity (top 15 player in the portal). He entered in the Spring, IIRC.
Based on results were the equivalent of the Cubs. Top overall revenue, best fan base that travels that you could ask for, best facilities. Poor AD historically, poor investment and selection of coaches, to soft and tight following the rules handicaps the program.I’m disappointed in what appears to me as Nebraska either A) refusing to play the game or B) not able to play the game properly when it comes to player acquisition over the past few years, not just this current.

It’s clear we just need to do that to get things halfway back in order. Boosters aren’t on board and when they do begrudgingly raise their commitment levels those have already been surpassed three years prior. He was a hot commodity that had no interest in going to Texas Tech until they put a number in front of his agent that made him become interested in Texas Tech. why not follow Campbell to Penn State? That’s the only potential red flag I see.
I get it, Tech has the Double Eagle guys footing the bill.Seems to me Nebraska is stuck between wanting to be Cockeye or Texas Tech and isn’t good at either
He’s a loss if he isn’t replaced with similar quality and similar or less dollars. He is another hole to fill who may have panned out and they had dumped a ton of time and money into.Davis is probably a loss but it didn’t seem like he ever wanted to be here
