Our RB room is complete ass. We're cooked if we don't upgrade at multiple positions.
So much is done through agents nowadays too. Nebraska staff are following pretty much every as agent/agency under the sun.

Disagree at QB. Ole Miss just lit up Georgia's defense with a guy who was playing D2 last year.
After two years of spending big on QB, I'd rather get a good QB and surround him with great talent.
You don’t think Chambliss would demand $5 million next year if he had eligibility left? Guy is an absolute stud.
I mean I would take your scenario as well it’s better than what Nebraska is now.
I don’t think you can be good without high level QB play, regardless of what’s around them.
We’re not going to have Cockeye’s O-Line next season. You need a QB who is an absolute difference maker.
I didnt hate what I saw from Nelson and Mozee vs Utah. I just don't think that room is as shit as I had thought beforehand. I still want a RB from the portal but my biggest need in portal is OL and DL.
Who did you expect us to get??? We arnt getting a top 5 QB.Minchey to Nebraska.

I just disagree. No reason we can't have an OL as good as Cockeye's next year.
Why?
Geep will help a lot. People underestimate how bad Uncle Donny was.

I agree. I think the lack of production from those two in 2025 had more to do with how much of a stud EJ was.
Without looking it up - who was Ameer's backup in 2013? When you have an elite RB, the backups just don't get as many carries...
Nelson impressed me and I think we could expect to see him take a step forward in 2026, should that be the route we want to go. That being said, we also should be able to capitalize on EJ's success and bring in another elite RB.
Who has gone from one of the most historically terrible teams ever to one win away from the national championship game in a matter of one year, especially in such a sudden manner? No one. Cig and co are the hottest teams I can remember in my lifetime with the type of acceleration they've had. If he sustains it, which no reason to think he won't if the money is right for transfers, it'll be completely unprecedented.
Its not that we dont want to get the guys they're getting to visit/transfer, its that we shouldn't be comparing our rise/fall to them.

I'm not a low on Donny as most. I think we had a pretty solid run game this past year and Donny doesn't seem to get any credit for that. I think he should.
However, Geep is an upgrade, no doubt. I also think we continue to upgrade via the portal too. It should be the goal to have our OL room be the #1 unit on the team this portal.
I guarantee you this this intel on Minchey will change after he sees the Vegas Bowl game video. There's no way he'd sign with Nebraska if he knew we lost our bowl game.
I'd prepare to target a lesser QB, bc Minchey won't be coming here. He'll see the game vs Utah and realize what we all know: Nebraska is the worst program in all of college football.
I hear the backup from Bowling Green might be entering the portal. That's more our level.
Ehh, I think you're giving Donny and the OL too much credit. EJ routinely turned what would be a 0-3 yard gain for any other back on our roster into a 5+ yard gain because he just had elite vision and physical tools. It wasn't because the OL was good.
