I read through that entire thread and a lot of them thought the officials cheated them.

About half gave us respect though, but they see themselves as disappointed for sweet 16 finish and some of them don't even feel like they'll get that far.
How did the tech lead to five points? Is that dude retarded or something. What’s funny is that missed dunk may have cost them the game - who knows but it was hilarious to watch

Honestly, as someone listening to the call live, I thought Kent’s call of the final play sucked. The shot goes up and Kent just begins with these guttural yells and I had no idea what happened. Did he make the shot? Was he fouled with no call and Kent was pissed? Are we going to overtime? It took several moments before Io figured out what had happened.
Give him a break, he was in the middle of a big orgasm. Hard to talk through the O-face

Got it means he made it. The orgasm after got it means it was a basically a buzzer beater.
Everyone knows what “got it” means. Go back and listen. There was no “got it!”

If there had been a clear “Got it!” it would have been obvious as to what happened. But there wasn’t. If that’s what he was trying for, there was definitely no “it” and the “got” came out like “Gaahh!”

His call: “it is Lawrence, puts it up GAAAAHHHH! AHHHH! AHHHHH! AHHHHH!” It all comes out as a bunch of guttural, non-verbal yelling.

It’s not until several moments later after some more jumbled talk that he says “The game is over and Nebraska wins” do we figure out what happened. The way he had been bitching about the officials, the first thing that flashed into my mind in the moment was that JLaw had been fouled with no call and Kent was crying out in frustration.

Love the emotion and excitement. Kent is one of us. But he failed at a radio play-by-play man’s No. 1 job: telling the audience what happened.

He starts his orgasm while saying got it, but he does say it.

Made both FTs and hit a 3 on the possession (we would have had possession without the tech anyway). It was a ticky tack T, but B1G refs are going to call that everytime.

Oh Tim, stick to baseball:

Go back and look at any of the other games this season prior to Essegian injury against legit opponents. Garcia wasn’t playing; wasn’t in Fred’s rotation.

He only started to get minutes in meaningful games after Essegian’s injury. That’s an indisputable fact backed up by every box score prior and my own eyes.

My only point is Essegian’s injury opened the door for Garcia and he took full advantage. Not sure why you feel the need to argue every point someone makes other than being the compete psychopath you are for 20 plus years on message boards.
Essegian is a terrible defender so his minutes were going to be down in conference play. I believe Jacobson is rewarded with some of his minutes since the injury. Garcia fits nicely giving berki and Mast some rest when needed. True Power forward body

Dunking on a guy, then taunting him in his face is a tech every time. Even Underwood wasn't arguing.

I think the rule is you can get up in your teammates face and celebrate however with your teammate(s) but you can’t do it to the opponent. Nevertheless I’ve seen that same thing called many times, don’t really love the rule, but that’s getting called 9 out 10 times.

Jacobsen, Berke, Hoiberg and Garcia are all really good defenders and give great energy and effort. None are great scorers, Garcia has shown some offensive potential lately. Sam is actually a really good offensive player he just doesn’t score much. But if Sam was 6’3” or 6’4” with his same game he’d probably average 20 pts a game. He’s extremely skilled, good shooter and doesn’t turn the ball over, but he’s also only like 5’10”.

Nevertheless, having 4 guys that give maximum effort, play great defense and don’t turn the ball over is a HUGE asset. A lot of what those 4 guys do won’t show up on the stat sheet, but they are definitely affecting the game in a big way. Love it.

Accurate af. Listen to the Illinois version and see what real play by play in that situation should have sounded like. Homer or no, you are being paid in that role for a reason. I also assumed some screw-bauchery had occurred when he went full blown tuorette.
