They almost got it right.
But Alabama being in is a lesser travesty than if Miami was left out in favor of Notre Dame.
I’m okay with it. Alabama beat one of the teams they lost to, and that has to count for something.
They can avenge another of their losses in the first round. If they do that, then they deserve to be in the quarterfinals.
I’d have had Miami 9, ND 10, but I do understand this.

this bracket is set up pretty well for the Big 10 to get 3 teams in the semis. Oregon has to love how this sets up for them

The upside of this is that regardless of whether Alabama, Miami, or Notre Dame got left out, at least one over-entitled fan base gets disappointed.

ESPN... Doing their part to destroy college football. We all better hope either OSU, Oregon, or IU take the crown as the "get half the SEC into the playoff" mantra is only gonna get worse. They are hyper regionalizing a sport whose "weakness" 20 years ago per the experts was that it was too regionalized.

It’s kind of funny how the committee initially had the rankings set up so ND would get in over Miami, but had their stupidity pointed out to them and very slowly moved Miami into position to squeak in, without any real reason other than they fucked it up to start.

Could not disagree more. Alabama was the least deserving team of the 3. Bama got waxed TWICE. ND lost to two CFP teams by a combined 4 points and could have won both games.
Bama should not get credit for beating GA in week 4 due to getting their shit packed in to them last night.
It’s honestly bullshit BYU drops after losing the CCG, and Bama didn’t. It’s not the same protocol.

I agree. If you re-read my post, I was effectively saying Miami and Bama is better than ND and Bama, which is what I thought would happen.
