Everything supporting the rumor has been true basically since he enrolled at Nebraska. I think it's most just rumors and the fan bases compulsive need to feast on the entrails of Rabbity The Rabbit to bring about the return of our Lord and Savior.... Satan.

New follow for Barthel:
As of now, Barthel is following numbers 1, 2, and 5 on this list.
My personal hope for how they attack the RB position for next season: get a big fish from the portal for RB1 (*cough*Caleb Hawkins*cough*), grab an RB2 from the portal (Dylan Edwards or maybe one of these FCS guys), kick Mekhi Nelson into the portal, move Mozee back to WR. Then you’re going into ‘26 with this depth chart
1) RB1 portal
2) RB2 portal
3) J. Parker
4) C. Booth
5) Ja. Rule
