I'll have to know who is on the team before I know what is being built. If you'd somehow retain Raiola, Hunter, and Barney, and you supplement that's a much different scenario than ???? At QB throwing to ???? And ???? Then idk

That is fair.... If we retain them I will be the first to say things are trending in the right way. You also saw how quickly Matt Rhule/Tony White made an impact early on in his tenure. Getting the right DC will go along ways in fixing it.
I just think you need to figure out a way to retain that core and then build. Otherwise you are basically standing outside with your pants around your ankles.

This is a big reason why I'm fine with him leaving. I think he's pretty decent.
But he's terrible at avoiding sacks. Terrible. And those are devastating to an offense.
We all but abandoned trying to stretch the field fairly early on in the season. Lots and lots of throws at or around the line of scrimmage got us the 27.7%, not ability to block effectively.
Jacory Barney’s broken 50 yards receiving 5 times in 25 games. He’s not a “dude” at WR, he’s solid but doesn’t seem capable or trustworthy enough to run a full route tree.
I remember when we were trying to model our identity after Michigan. Dominate LOS. Stop run and run the ball.
Then we hired a DC who can’t stop the run and an OC who ran an air raid offense for most of his career.
So how the hell should we know what we trying to build this team into, identity wise? 18 months ago we were going be smash mouth win LOS and field position game. Fundamentals, discipline, toughness and execution. Then we decided to do a complete 180 started trying to be like USC or something. And not good USC, shitty Lincoln Riley USC with no defense or run game. Ugh…
So, in short. I suppose I need to see who the new coaches are and what we do in the portal to help me see some clearer direction. Right now seems pretty…

It was pretty low early on too
Emmett was an exceptional runner with the ball but he was single-handedly responsible for several sacks early in the year.

Why don’t we just have everyone come back, including DR, TJ, Emmet, the WR, and then spend big money one offensive and defensive lineman, linebackers, maybe a safety and corner, another running back.
And then get an elite defensive coordinator and elite o-line coach and then we just go out and dominate in 2026?

When we start losing dudes to the portal left and right, i wonder if we will regret only signing a HS class of 10. We might need to go get 15-20 + dudes in the portal to meet numbers when transfers start flying out
