hot take maybe, but I think both sides are at fault with this Kiffin drama, no? Obviously the alleged threats of stealing the whole staff and players etc is crazy but to Lane’s credit he wanted to coach the team through the playoffs which is the best case scenario for all the players and staff. UCF let Frost coach them after he took our job. Ole Miss AD comes off as petty IMO.

If our coach got hired by Cockeye, would we let him still coach? And give him another month to convince all the players to leave with him (I’m sure he’s already had conversations)?

I think we’ve all missed something in State College

Someone with ties to the program, dating back to their rebuild after the mess that was Sandusky.

A guy that has experienced success at the highest level of football

A guy from the area - Philly. Gets the culture

And a guy that’s a B1G dc

John Butler —> Penn state HC - confirmed

It’s a tough one for sure. Emotionally, I’d probably not want to let him, but if we were in a position to go play for a natty I might want to just see how it plays out. Kids worked hard all year for that opportunity. To be fair the Ole Miss players seem to be handling it pretty well so maybe it turns into a good thing for them.

It’s really a no-win for Kiffin though in that situation. If he completely bails and doesn’t try to coach them through the playoffs he’s similarly blasted for outright abandoning his team.

Players that want to follow him are going to do it regardless of the extra month in the building though, IMO.

I just don’t think it’s petty. They’re rivals.

I think college football’s calendar is atrocious and needs to be fixed (among the so many other obvious issues).

They make fun of him on message boards

Carolina Panthers in the playoff hunt just three short years post Rhule - fascinating

Really makes you wonder.

I was in on Rhule but it’s becoming harder and harder.
Really makes you wonder how bad Frank Reich was right? 2 years after he was fired they are hanging on to possibly being in the playoffs in week 13 of the NFL
