Potentially, likely. But I still think he (Rhule) was the AD’s back up plan if he struck out with Cignetti. I think he assumed Rhule was sure thing and it didn’t work out. And yes, I think a significant portion of their fans wouldn’t have been happy with that hire. I also know if they strike out with Riley, Huepal and Sitaki then 90+% of their fanbase will hate the hire, whoever it is.

I’d assume at the very least they could get Fleck or someone on that level and I just watched him coach circles around Rhule with a less talented team so they’d have to strike out on quite a few coaches to end up with a worse coach than Rhule.

That and kind of ridiculous expectations. One down year after a total rebuild and nationally competitive equals gone mid season. Tough to want to jump into that.

Best option IMO, with trying to keep everyone focused this year & keep as much of the staff/roster together for next season. If he’s not cut out for it, it obviously won’t work but worth the risk imo.
 
Listening to an Ole Miss space. Awesome stuff. These guys have been ahead of everything the last month

Apparently players see Kiffin as a snake. Wouldn’t expect a ton to follow

Multiple staff told Kiffin to “go fuck himself” when given the ultimatum to leave
