I think everybody that was looking from the outside in felt like Cig wasn’t going anywhere. PSU is dumb enough to believe they could change that. They were wrong of course.

Potentially, likely. But I still think he (Rhule) was the AD’s back up plan if he struck out with Cignetti. I think he assumed Rhule was sure thing and it didn’t work out. And yes, I think a significant portion of their fans wouldn’t have been happy with that hire. I also know if they strike out with Riley, Huepal and Sitaki then 90+% of their fanbase will hate the hire, whoever it is.
