The moment looked too big. Defense gave him zero help to stay in the game, however.Lateef didn't look bad. Wild (and inaccurate) to say that he looked in way over his head.

o jeez, you're right. 10 catches in our last 7 (!) games, not 6.0 catches in our last 2.5 games… the time since Dylan went down.
I also gave you multiple examples of him making critical plays in the last six games, but it’s not enough for you.
TJ runs the true freshman offense and gets through like two reads, so he’s not using a TE. Maybe you should criticize him?
Oh wait, you’d never because that would be inferred support of Dylan.
Was Jacory Barney not a good player when he had 36 yards receiving over a 4 game stretch during which we went 2-2?o jeez, you're right. 10 catches in our last 7 (!) games, not 6.
"really good" players typically have plays called to get them involved. they're a priority. especially when the offense is struggling.
guess he did have a tough drop down the sideline on Saturday.
appreciate you proving my point here, friend. he, much like your emotional governor, has completely disappeared.
I wouldn't waste your time with that idiot. Was Jacory Barney not a good player when he had 36 yards receiving over a 4 game stretch during which we went 2-2?

I have to think they tried and struck out (I have no idea) because it was an issue/concern that everyone saw.Biggest problem with Ty and Nash leaving there was no plan to replace them. It’s not like the coaches didn't know that they were leaving. So where was your developmental guys if you didn't want to spend the money in the portal. If their plan was to go with Jeudy, RVP, and a couple low level dudes from the portal to replace them then they have bigger problems.

Also need to adapt your scheme to the personnel you have. We're trying to do things we don't have the roster to do. Just doesn't make any sense.Biggest problem with Ty and Nash leaving there was no plan to replace them. It’s not like the coaches didn't know that they were leaving. I hope they have the money that they say they have to go after some guys in the portal because they are looking at the same situation this offseason now minus Jeudy.I have to think they tried and struck out (I have no idea) because it was an issue/concern that everyone saw.
I think a first year DC & first year DL coach may have complicated this somewhat. But agreed there was a gap there, and hope we have plans to aggressively address it.Biggest problem with Ty and Nash leaving there was no plan to replace them. We’re 7-4 and likely to be 7-5 after next Friday. Rhule has a new contract, he’s not going anywhere and we’re honestly only marginally better. Also, we potentially have a QB contraversy… I say, try to keep both QBs, I think Lateef can be convinced that he’s not ready yet, but he can be our guy eventually. Hopefully you can keep Dylan committed, but don’t hamstring yourself financially if the ask is too big. I think keeping Raiola is the ideal path, but if he and his camp are demanding too much you gotta let him walk. What I think the more important objective should be getting better in the trenches.
IMO, we need to let the chips fall where they lay with regards to our QB situation. As long as we keep 1 it’s not the end of world. Try to retain both within the context of making the entire team better. If that means cutting Donnie’s sack and losing Dylan, so be it. Our number one priority needs to being fixing the O-line and D-line. We need 2-3 o-lineman from the portal. Retain Justin Evans and get an OT and OG. Or get a C, OT and OG if Evans isn’t back for some reason. Then we need a legit NT (run stuffer) and another pass rusher on the D-line. And if you (Rhule) don’t think we can rebuild/retool the o-line with uncle Donnie, and you think firing/demoting him will cost you Dylan. So be it. Getting better upfront is too important.
Summary… IMO, We need to get better upfront on both sides of the ball and that has to be the number 1 priority above all else. And if that costs us a good QB and shitty OL coach it’s worth it. What say you? Where do we go from here…
(also kinda drunk so I apologize if this is all over map)
I think someone on here said we were pursuing that Oklahoma DT who entered the portal, but then he decided to stay in Oklahoma. Would have been a huge get for us.Biggest problem with Ty and Nash leaving there was no plan to replace them. It’s not like the coaches didn't know that they were leaving. My bad, that's a good correction. But at least we agree this is not the easiest schedule since 2016?3rd easiest*
Yeah if you're fact checking my meme, it is not quite our easiest schedule since 2016My bad, that's a good correction. But at least we agree this is not the easiest schedule since 2016?
The DEs they have are or will be good, need to find some DT/NT guys to complement them. Unfortunately they didn't seem to have the right kind of LBs to help with the smaller DL this year. Looks like they are trying to use more OLB type guys as ILB this year. So they are smaller up front and smaller in the middle at the second level too. No John Bullock type of guys for example. Also need to adapt your scheme to the personnel you have. We're trying to do things we don't have the roster to do. Just doesn't make any sense.
I suppose there is a possibility that the guys we have on the DL aren't as bad as they seem and the issue is on the coaching side, but who knows
It didn't help to bring a NFL guy with no recruiting connections in at DL and he came late as well after the super bowl. But the staff knew that but apparently didn't do much to fill in the gap to help him out.I think a first year DC & first year DL coach may have complicated this somewhat. But agreed there was a gap there, and hope we have plans to aggressively address it.
I think it’s fair to say Barney hasn’t been the game breaking difference maker we hoped he’d blossom into at this point. Was Jacory Barney not a good player when he had 36 yards receiving over a 4 game stretch during which we went 2-2?
