We are pushing the limits (in a good way) of what we can realistically retain for a QB room.
Raiola as a 5 star recruit and 2 year starter, 2 more years of eligibility
Lateef as an 4 star Elite 11 QB with a large offer list & looking ahead of the curve as a true freshman, 3 more years of eligibility
Dayton Raiola as a '26 commit - starting QB for one of the best HS teams in the nation with significant upside (people poo-poo his commitment, but if he wasn't so completely & obviously a Husker lock, his physical growth over the last year & a half & elite arm strength would have a lot of teams offering - they probably are already, he's just very low-key).
Trae Taylor as one of the top '27 QBs available
Jalyn Gramstad has been about the best possible guy we could hope for as a #3 QB the last 2 years, and while we've been fortunate to not have QB health issues prior to last week, having a high-floor safety valve allowed Haarberg to move to TE.
Marcos Davila (RS frosh) as a developmental prospect, 4 star HS guy & legit transfer that would be getting more chatter if he wasn't squeezed between Lateef & the incoming recruits
Longval & Soukup as depth guys that won't challenge for the starting spot, but help fill out some reliable roles as backups.
Gramstad is the only one of these guys who's automatically out next year - I'd love to see the 6 year sequence that involves retaining all these guys & having some of our very talented young guys/recruits sit for a couple years, but it's going to be next to impossible for us to not lose some very good QBs with modern CFB player movement.
