Side note:
I’ll say TAMU is on 🔥 for their ‘27 class, I read the Wiltfong article and 🤯. He says they are in the lead group for about six to seven 5 ⭐️ players.
Texas A&M another to follow in 2026, going on a run in 2027
The Aggies are right there with Ohio State as one of the hottest teams on the field and on the recruiting trail.Second-year head coach Mike Elko’s win percentage in his first 20 games is better than Nick Saban’s at LSU and Alabama and better than Kirby Smart’s at Georgia while being identical to what Urban Meyer did at Florida.
The results are resonating with elite prospects.
Texas A&M has Rivals’ No. 7 ranked class in the 2026 cycle with several key targets still in play. Obviously they’re working on the Rivals Industry’s No. 1 recruit in five-star defensive lineman Lamar Brown. The LSU commit will be tough to flip even without a coach in Baton Rouge but he’s been keeping the Aggies warm. I do think Texas A&M will circle back on Rivals No. 1 receiver Jase Mathews who is a verbal to Auburn, but two in-state receivers are also prominent. The Aggies have fallen in love with four-star Houston commit Jayden Warren. He is going to take an official visit for the South Carolina game after visiting earlier in the fall. I like the way that one is trending. Dialogue continues with USC commit Boobie Feaster who has also been on campus for a game this season. The Trojans have poured a lot into Feaster but the season the Aggies are having gives them a pulse.
The Aggies will host Rivals Industry five-star safety Bralan Womack on Nov. 15 and right now they pose the biggest threat to Auburn.
I do think Texas A&M is on the gas now for Florida edge rusher commit Kevin KJ Ford. He’s been to two games this fall. USC is also in the mix. Right now it’s setting up nicely for the Aggies. We’ll see what the Trojans do. Texas A&M was considered the original favorite for Ford.
One more 2026 name to know for Texas A&M is four-star safety and Georgia commit Tyriq Green. Still probably a long shot he did visit for a game this fall. Defensive line commit Bryce Perry-Wright and his family helped the Aggies get involved here.
Although idle this past weekend, No. 3 Texas A&M added to its third-ranked 2027 recruiting class, snagging a commitment from Rivals No. 1 safety and No. 1 prospect in the Peach State in safety Kamarui Dorsey.
Beyond Dorsey, the Aggies are trending for several others. The nation’s No. 8 cornerback Raylaun Henry will commit on Nov. 15. I continue to like where Texas A&M stands and have logged a Rivals Prediction to reflect that.
Beyond Henry, the Aggies are at the top or near the top for several other elite guys.
My prediction is on Texas A&M for the Rivals Industry’s No. 1 overall player in the country in five-star cornerback John Meredith (Ohio State, Alabama and SMU are other contenders). I still like Texas A&M’s position for Rivals five-star and No. 1 ranked interior offensive lineman Albert Simien. The Aggies have a lot of things going for them in the recruitment of No. 1 linebacker Cooper Witten(Tennessee, Oklahoma and Ohio State are others I eye here).
Other five-stars the Aggies are in the lead group for include offensive tackles Kennedy Brown and Mark Matthews, edge rushers Zyron Forstall and David DJ Jacobs and tight end Ahmad Hudson.
Beyond Meredith, Witten and Brown, the Aggies are setting the tone in-state for many others. I believe they lead for offensive lineman Ismael Camara, running back Landen Williams-Callisand safety Jayquan Snell who are Top50 recruits. I also believe they lead for edge Kaden McCarty, receiver Tre Moore and offensive tackle Kaeden Scott.
An out-of-state name for Texas A&M fans to know is receiver Jaden Upshaw. After landing Dorsey and ballyhooed quarterback Jayce Johnson from Georgia, the Aggies are planting flags all over Bulldogs territory.
