Our New NIL Pool…

We get one every year that thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room while he says the dumbest shit imaginable.

If 1 person on a message board believes you’re a brain dead moron it’s probably something to do with them and not you.

But if everybody on a message board believes you’re a brain dead moron it’s probably something to do with you.

Either 99% of the board has something wrong with them or @king_kong_ is a total dipshit. My money is on the second one.
It’s not everybody

Just the fanfic Rhule balloon knot brigade

Same people react to my posts over and over and think they’re doing something

Like the folks who used to chain themselves to a damned old oak tree

Soft coach, soft team. All the poh-tay-toes in the world wont change that fact.

Let’s put it to a vote then

Rhule should promote Uncle Donnie to associate HC or some other meaningless title (he doesn’t fire people anyway)

Then bring in an actual OL coach

“Assistant associate co-coordinator of offensive player administration and advisement”

I don’t think it would be smart for Nebraska to invest a million into a RB right now.
Don’t disagree, would also argue in CFB it is dumb to dump 2-4 million into a QB. I’d prefer us dump about 4-10 million into our front seven and o line. I’m also an idiot that has no idea who is making what or how all this works!

I’m not really worried about G,C,G on the OL. But next year throw 1.5 each at a RT and LT

Then 2 M for a DT
2M for a DE opposite WN
2M for a pass rusher
Whatever it takes to build up the RB room and replenish the WR room.

Feel good about most other spots

8th off the board is round 4-5. If pass pro is his weakness then good luck stepping on a nfl field. He could use another year but not like he’d bump his stock up more than round 2-3
You're the only person I've seen mention EJ's pass blocking but you are absolutely right. If he doesn't improve his pass blocking he's not going to see much of the field at all. Look at Treyveon Henderson. He was a higher draft pick than EJ will go and he doesn't get near the reps he should because he can't be trusted to pass block.

It will come down to will he make more money at NU or going to the NFL.
Keep in mind another yr in college puts more milage on him which will hurt his draft position
It really comes down to can he make a 52 man roster next yr & the yr after that
RBs have very little value in the NFL. 4-5th round is no guarantee to make a roster & stay in the league.

I haven’t watched the patriots but if that’s the case, one of Henderson’s strengths going into the draft was supposed to be pass pro.

You’re wrong.

I’d be surprised if Emmett is back next year. Going to be hard to raise his stock anymore than he has this year and why risk an injury. Dean’s podcast said someone has him as the 8th back off the board right now.
He'll have to weigh that against what he gets paid here vs his draft position.

The 8th RB off the board last year was Skattebo. His contract was $5.3M over 4 years. I'm sure EJ is not making that much but I'm also not sure he'd get drafted in the 4th round.

RBs have a short life span and high injury rate.
If he gets good advice he’s gone and takes the guaranteed money

Will have at least 95% spent on OL/DL if our staff knows anything.

For the first time I can remember, we have the skill guys to compete with high end competition, and our lines are in such bad shape.

Dump all of our NIL into our lines please
Gotta spend to keep those skill guys though.

But yeah I get where you're coming from.

Hopefully they can talk some low level OT/DT to portal that can actually play in the Big 10. But really the key to a good line is recruiting high star kids out of high school, develop and pay to retain them. The best OL and interior DL players don't ever portal.

So yes they need to hit on 2 kids in the portal at OT and probably 1 or 2 at DT. But that is very very hard to do. They also need to pay up on the high school front to get highly rated kids.
