Sign Up Now!We have the same taste in movies. I've been wanting to watch Late Night with the Devil. The filmmaker’s previous movie, Barbarian, is also very good.
Malignant is probably the most batshit mainstream horror movie you will ever see.
I really liked Late Night with the Devil
The Menu is very good.
X is excellent (horror film about shooting a 70s porn movie, so all the bases are covered). It’s part of a trilogy and all are good.
The Black Phone is worth seeing. Haven’t seen the sequel yet.
anyone watched this? am considering watching it
Hell House llc is a sneaky good horror movie. A yearly watch for me.Haunt is really good. If you like Haunt and want to see others like it check out The Houses October Built and Hell House LLC. They're both really good.
Yikes. Just watched the trailer and that does look like a mind fuck.I recently watched Hereditary. That one will mind fuck you.
The girl friend got a list of "Horror movies that will mindfuck you" off you tube somewhere. So for Halloween week we've been watching as many of them as we can find. The Ninth Gate is a decent flick but no where near the mind fuck its made out to be. Of the five we've watched in the last seven days Hereditary is the only one that lived up to the billing.Yikes. Just watched the trailer and that does look like a mind fuck.
Yep. Not really that scary but absolute mind fuck. One of my favoritesI recently watched Hereditary. That one will mind fuck you.
Ninth Gate is full of layers and it's all right there in front of you as you watch. I loved trying to figure out who was who and what all with the fake books. The girl friend got a list of "Horror movies that will mindfuck you" off you tube somewhere. So for Halloween week we've been watching as many of them as we can find. The Ninth Gate is a decent flick but no where near the mind fuck its made out to be. Such a good movie.I recently watched Hereditary. That one will mind fuck you.
Ernest Scared Stupid is a classic !There are only two Halloween movies allowed in the Bush household:
1. Young Frankenstein
2. Ernest saves Halloween
PUMPKIN EVERYTHING
With my GF, Taylor Cole
Need to watch it againErnest Scared Stupid is a classic !
The House of The Devil (2009) is good too.I used to watch so many horror movies. IMO, these days horror movies are very hit and miss. A few have talked about Hereditary in this thread. I know I'm in the minority as many view Hereditary as one of the best ever. I think it's very over rated. Some of the newer horror movies I've liked are Weapons, Longlegs, Insidious, and Sinister. The first Insidious only, don't bother with any of the sequels. The first Sinister movie is a trip, like Insidious don't bother with the sequel, I saw Sinister when it first came out. I watched the final scene of the movie with my jaw dropped.
Three horror movies that really messed with me were The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Dead Silence and Devil. For Dead Silence and Devil I think part of what made these movies mess with me is that I watched each of these all by myself around 2 AM. I saw The Exorcism of Emily Rose in theatres and don't think I could ever watch it again. For a week after I saw that movie, I would wake up a few minutes after 3 AM. Every day for a week. I'd be so freaked out I'd have to get up and play video games until it was after 4 AM. I found out a few weeks after that the same thing happened to my buddy that I watched it with.
There's a lot of mindfuck movies out there that'll mess with you, but some of the lesser known ones are the best. Triangle is a very unknown B movie that is an absolute trip. The Autopsy of Jane Doe is wild.
If you don't mind reading subtitles check out Audition. Really messed up movie. Another great wild one if you don't mind reading subtitles is I Saw the Devil.
My favorites are older though. Here's my top 5, I'm putting years next to them because most have remakes or reimagining versions out there:
1. Halloween 1978
2. The Thing 1982
3. Re-Animator
4. Fright Night 1985
5. Poltergeist 1982
