Week 9 v Northwestern: Game Notes, Depth Chart, Etc

My memory definitely had this as a bigger blowout than the final score indicates. I certainly don’t remember us scoring 24 points.

Also forgot the Passtronaut started for Tennessee that year.

Tennessee was absolutely dominating the game going into the 4th quarter with a 31-14 lead. Nebraska then strung a short drive together to kick a field goal, making it 31-17. Tennessee fumbled on their next drive at the Nebraska 31 yard line. The Huskers were able to make it interesting at 31-24, before UT added another TD.

Nebraska played that game without Tommy Armstrong, Jordan Westerkamp, and Alonzo Moore. Really stood no chance.

And we've basically stood no chance in any game against a remotely competent team without them even since. #Amen

What's crazy to me is that I think we are probably one of the most supportive places you'll find.

For instance, I only watch Inside Nebraska versions of media availability to provide him the views because Zack is a good dude who has been awesome to this board when the Rivals change occurred.

@ShortSideOption I'd assume gets a nice following on his blogging because of his interaction and involvement here.

Engaging this group is an uptick alone without spamming and begging for it.
Certainly saw an uptick when I came over here.

It is funny though, I can tell when someone posts a tweet or blog of mine on another board because my notifications or followers goes crazy. Always cringe at that because it's usually people yelling at me.

Did Dittman post your stuff too?

Personally, I dont think it is a crazy request to ask people not to just copy and paste. I was just hoping to get my name out a little more and add into the content being talked about here, but if that is not wanted, I completely understand

I literally said hey, we’d appreciate if you contributed to the conversation more than just spamming your articles and you replied saying you have nothing to add.

I guess I’m a little confused. Does “getting your name out there and adding to the content being talked about” entail more than spamming links to your (paid) articles or not?

Mine too. I was surprised at the final score. I remember watching the game and thinking "we are getting crushed"
Fyfe credited Barnett with being in the backfield a lot. "My head, I was seeing stars and I thought I was concussed," Fyfe said of being sacked by Barnett.

I remember this comment.

Hopefully we play well this weekend, but we haven’t really looked well against BIG teams. We were in a dog fight at home with one of the shitter BIG teams and Maryland is nothing special. Thank God special teams saved our ass. Our weakness which is line play on both sides is probably going to get exposed more coming down the stretch.

I know this is not popular, but this is why I look at the actual game performance NOT just the result. Reality is we've had large chunks of the Cincinnati, Michigan, MSU and Maryland game that showed this team had major flaws.

Now we went 3-1 in that group so people got cocky. I think the players did too. There's got to be a distinction between "Only thing that matters is a W" and the other extreme of hyper-analyzing every play, etc.

If you actually watched all our P4 games this year then that Minnesota game wasn't that surprising. I do like that we are finally winning close games this year - but our team took it to mean our shit don't stink. Well, our shit DO stank.
