Did not think they would do this midseason. But hey, if you know you’re gonna do it in the end anyway and the team keeps losing. Fuck it, rip off the bandaid and start the moving forward process.
Just thought they’d have a little more loyalty to Franklin considering he’s been there a long time and won a lot of games for them. Welcome to 2025 I guess…

Can’t have donors paying out a boat load of money to players and lose 3 games in a row with two of them being to scrubs.

UCLA and Northwestern may not end up being the 2 worst teams in the B1G. But 2 weeks ago, before they played PSU, they were a consensus bottom 2.
I think Wisconsin has now taken that prestigious honor.

And that would be my 1st choice honestly. I was hoping we were selling out for him before Rhule was announced.

Gonna analyze this rationally
1) Rhule would take the job. Don't give me any bullshit about how much his wife loves Lincoln. Is his wife making $8 million a year? He brought up how much he loved Penn State in his introductory press conference here. If he's offered the job, he is gone.
2) He's not #1 on Penn State's wish list. But he could be in the #3-#5 range. If they strike out on guys like Cignetti/Kiffin/Drinkwitz, he could get a call.
3) I don't think their fans would love the hire. They want to pull someone who could get them contending for national titles immediately. I don't think that's Matt Rhule. But I don't think they would revolt. He's a respected coach, and they could sell their fans the old Mike Riley "let's see what he can do with our resources" line.

Rhule’s agent is for sure gonna make sure there are plenty of articles about him being a target.
I'm sure PSU kicks the tires, but most likely this ends with Rhule getting a pay bump/extension here out of this unless PSU misses on multiple guys.

Plus, Rhule sees the downside of taking over at your Alma mater, one that just fired their HC after being in the playoffs the previous year.
The expectations given to you even before stepping on campus would be outrageous.
