Nebraska to SEC?

First, fuck Oklahoma. They put their lot in with Texas, first when the big 12 split into divisions, and second when we tried to get Texas in line on tv.

Second, fuck Texas. No explanation needed. Getting away from them was the best part of going to the B1G. They never have to be our problem again. You can guarantee, at some point, they will try something selfish and make a fucking mess in the SEC.

This in spades.

Having celebrated in person the sesquicentennial and fought along side @HuskerDocCo where we had to shadow the Army of Northern Virginia near Richmond for many weeks I have feelings about the confederates. We tracked them all the way to Appomattox where I finally got my eyes on Robert E. Lee. @huskerdoc missed a shot at him from 500 yards due to having drank too many natty lites that day. Later on @HuskerDocCo and I were tasked with protecting President Lincoln. Natty lites may have played a role in that faithful evening. I also have it on good authority that John Wilkes Booth was illegally paying players at an SEC institution when they won a national title.
Flaccidio as we are both, stupid sonofabitchs, and fought our butts off in the early years for the USA, thank you for your service.

I can't believe people said they'd be excited to play those teams plus aTm and Arkansas more than our B1G foes.

OU killed our rivalry 6 different times yet people still fawn over them. The rest are just uninteresting to me.

tOSU is possibly going to want unequal payouts so u can bet your ass that Texas will expect to follow suit, which won’t fly in the SEC. It all might lead to the top halves of each conference forming NFL lite & I’d pretty much consider that the end of cfb

Honestly at this point an “NFL lite” is the only way, IMO, you are going to clean up a lot of the tampering with NIL and the transfer portal. You would have some sort of CBA with contracts for each player at that point so there is some positive to it. I don’t mind players getting paid and having leverage to get more money, but there needs to be some guidelines to all this shit.

Going NFL lite would help some. But there will still be under the table shit going on regardless. Look at the NBA, the Clippers with the by far richest owner in all of pro sports (Ballsack Balmer could literally buy out every other NBA owner and own the entire league if he wanted, he is that rich). Balmer got Kahwi Leonard a 48 mil extra payment plan on the downlow. The biggest CFB programs will pay under the table even with an NFL lite CBA type of thing. That being said, I would prefer the CBA pay to play system which would help lock in players to actual contracts, which should make a player hitting the portal and bolting harder to do. Unless/until rules are changed again.

Let’s be honest.

For the last twenty or so years, we’d have gotten our asses kicked in the SEC on most Saturdays.

I live down her and the football isn’t the same.

That’s not to say it’s superior every year, and likely not significantly so this year, but by and large the teams outside the top two in the SEC have been superior to the like squads in the B1G.

You mention Oxford versus Piscataway, and from a scenery, history and atmosphere standpoint you’re 100% correct. From a winning versus losing standpoint, we’d have been better off in the B1G.
I couldn’t disagree more. I’ve been saying for years the b1g is a better conference top to bottom. Outside of Georgia, Bama and I guess Ole Miss, the SEC ain’t shit.

clay correct as he usually is. Nebraska is a shitty (comparatively) school who desperately wants to be good at football. Completely opposite of most b1g schools, but right in line with most in the sec. I mean just look at the atmosphere of most b1g games, it’s like a bunch of old people sitting in church vs the raucous exciting crowds in the sec. Geography is really the only thing going for us in the b1g, and even that is turning into a joke now with the addition of the west coast schools. In fact our anverage travel distance would probably go down if we bailed. Everything else - academics, politics, focus on athletics, etc., we fit in much better with the sec. This coming from someone who was very excited to join the b1g, but honestly it’s just been weird, boring, unexciting since we joined.

We haven’t even really reaped the benefits of close association with elite academics like we hoped at the time. I’m pretty sure our usnews ranking has actually dropped in the last 15 years.

That’s fine.

List the SEC teams we’d beat this year.

That’s how I’ve gauged in the past.
