Is buying parking something we have to or should do ahead of time? Can you not just show up and pay when you enter the lot?

I have never been to Arrowhead but was talking with someone who frequents the Chiefs game. He recommended buying a parking pass before hand and having it on your phone

At the moment, planning to bring our own as we bounce around the parking lot.
Looking forward to meeting people though. Been putzing around various Husker boards for 20 years, but rarely get the chance.

Yes, you need to purchase a parking pass online otherwise you won't get into the lot.

I just got a Red2 parking pass. It's the cheapest one and it's $60.
Gold parking was $100-$200.

I am about to make this post while accepting my fate as an asshole:
I was planning all along to bring the wife, but one of my sons has tugged at her heart strings enough that she is bowing out and demanding I take him. That doesn't bother me as I have raised him as a massive Husker fan. She gives two shits about football. Anyway, now that I'm taking him, I have a logistical issue.
He is in 8th grade, and a starter on the 8th grade varsity team with football scrimmage Thursday after school. His scrimmage will go until around 5:45. By the time, I get him home and showered, it will be 6 pm at the earliest. We will high tail it to the stadium from Gardner, but I know we likely won't even get into the parking lot until 7 to 7:15. Bottom line is I won't be able to tailgate. I will barely even get into the stadium by kickoff.
Considering the whole tailgate idea was my idea, I now feel like a Giant Asshole. When I explained this to my wife, she looked at me and said try explaining that to your son while also facing the reality of not getting laid for the next month.
I deserve whatever shit you want to toss my direction.

Well to be honest boys this shit stresses me out when there is a plan but there is no plan. Right now, there is no plan.
I am going to arrive at the stadium Thursday night around 4:30. I will send out a post with my location at that time. I will plan on bringing what I mentioned before.

Since I can't be sure of food I will plan to grab sandwiches and snack food and bring some beer. We'll set up and anyone that wants to come hang or say what's up, is welcome to. Otherwise, I am not going to stress chasing down a certain lot/location. I will let you know when I get there where I am at and I will pump some jams and relax by my car.
Can't wait to see the Big Red and I hope you all have a great time. It would be cool to meet some of you but if not, GBR and beat Cincy.

It looks like a Red pass will get you in to several lots. That's what I'm going to go with. With taxes and fees...$77.17. I guess you have to pay up when there isn't enough available parking....
