Nebraska is in the thick of the race for West Coast tight end Luke Sorensen after the official visit this weekend.
The touted prospect from Anaheim (Calif.) Servite made it back to Lincoln for a multi-day stay that gave the Huskers an opportunity to make a push heading into the final stretch.
Sorensen intends to reveal a college commitment on June 20, and Nebraska is battling Ole Miss and Penn State near the finish line.
"Definitely compared with the best," Sorensen said following the visit to Nebraska. "It was a great spot and the Lincoln people and staff are one of one.
"They are simply great people who love football. Their biggest pitch to me was to remind myself that this is home and that I need to play under coach Marcus Satterfield and coach Matt Rhule."
Sorensen is the nation's No. 19 rated tight end and No. 41 overall prospect in the state of California for the 2026 class, per the 247Sports rankings.
Ole Miss got an official visit from the talented 6-foot-4, 245-pound prospect back in early May. An official visit to Penn State (June 13) remains on the travel itinerary.
The Huskers had gotten Sorensen on campus earlier this year and the return to campus exceeded that prior stop. The staff's message was a clear one.
"I can be one of the best under them and have the ability to do great things," Sorensen said. "Right now it is a top choice to consider."
In 11 games as a junior last season, the 6-foot-4, 230-pound Sorensen was credited with 15 receptions for 183 yards and two touchdowns. He also contributed on the defensive side of the ball.
