Nebraska is #25 in ESPN’s updated FPI rankings

Maybe I have not paid enough attention to the transfer portal, but USC still seems like a mess under Lincoln Riley. 19 is a stretch for them IMO.

Illinois, Indiana, and Cockeye are all kind of shocking.

Your posts are connected even though you might not realize it. FPI factors in recruiting to their preseason rankings.

USC actually put together one helluva recruiting class this Spring with arguably the #1 JUCO player in the country, running back Waymond Jordan. I'm not exaggerating when I say he's the second coming of Ray Rice. They also signed Jahkeem Stewart, who run's a 4.4 at 6'6 275. He was among the most coveted defensive player of the last 5 recruiting cycles. Ohio State, Bama, Georgia, and Florida all offered him the bag.

Stewart finished his high school career with 124 tackles for loss. That number is ABSURD.

And they'll still win 7 games. They were supposed to be so much better defensively last year under D-Anton Lynn, and their total defense ranked in the high 70's. USC has a cutlural problem. A lack of toughness and overall soft mentality.

To be fair, their defense was dramatically improved last season. Ha.

Haven't followed the fpi over the years. Is it usually somewhat reliable or does it just have an SEC bias being an espn product?

Here are the national rankings of the BIG offenses they faced: 26, 61, 67, 71, 94, 99, 107, 118, 129.

Did they really improve, or just play dogshit BIG offenses vs. the 2023 Pac-12 offenses which we re historically good?

Its absolutely biased toward the SEC. Best part about it though are its offensive, defensive, and special teams efficiency ratings by about week 3.

For instance, it confirmed in early September that Nebraska's special teams were worse than every team in the Sun Belt.... LOL.

JFC! ESPN is the biggest UT dick riders I have ever seen! There is absolutely no real football reason for them to be ranked #1 in anything but a “run your mouth poll”
