Maybe I have not paid enough attention to the transfer portal, but USC still seems like a mess under Lincoln Riley. 19 is a stretch for them IMO.

And they'll still win 7 games. They were supposed to be so much better defensively last year under D-Anton Lynn, and their total defense ranked in the high 70's. USC has a cutlural problem. A lack of toughness and overall soft mentality.Your posts are connected even though you might not realize it. FPI factors in recruiting to their preseason rankings.
USC actually put together one helluva recruiting class this Spring with arguably the #1 JUCO player in the country, running back Waymond Jordan. I'm not exaggerating when I say he's the second coming of Ray Rice. They also signed Jahkeem Stewart, who run's a 4.4 at 6'6 275. He was among the most coveted defensive player of the last 5 recruiting cycles. Ohio State, Bama, Georgia, and Florida all offered him the bag.
Stewart finished his high school career with 124 tackles for loss. That number is ABSURD.
yep those Libby libs are too soft for football DJAnd they'll still win 7 games. They were supposed to be so much better defensively last year under D-Anton Lynn, and their total defense ranked in the high 70's. USC has a cutlural problem. A lack of toughness and overall soft mentality.

Here are the national rankings of the BIG offenses they faced: 26, 61, 67, 71, 94, 99, 107, 118, 129.To be fair, their defense was dramatically improved last season. Ha.
It's based on propping up the SEC, nothing moreI get that their FPI is based on returning production, etc., but Oklahom, Auburn, and Arkansas were dogshit last year.
I believe Illinois will win 9+ this year, but also hope I'm wrong. Glad they're not on our schedule this year.Especially Illinois. People have had them in their top 10.
Haven't followed the fpi over the years. Is it usually somewhat reliable or does it just have an SEC bias being an espn product?
Seems like a classic letdown team. That used to happen with Northwestern under Fitz…every other year.I believe Illinois will win 9+ this year, but also hope I'm wrong. Glad they're not on our schedule this year.
If I were unbiased (which I am not) I'd probably rank all of them above Nebraska preseason.Illinois, Indiana, and Cockeye are all kind of shocking.
