On3 Buys Rivals

I could be misremembering but when 247 bought Scout they tried to run it as two sites but eventually everything went to 247.
yeah scout or whatever? i assume its to not deal with the contracts that are already signed.. he's a cheapass and probably does not want to deal with all the buyouts

so run it as "2 sites" "more value" etc til all thats done

Well this is confusing as fuck.

It seems like he’s saying subscribers to one site will get access to articles and boards of the other site (Rivals/On3) but not access to the other website. Which I don’t understand how you access a board without accessing the website hosting the board.

The way I understand it, which could easily be wrong. Is that a subscription to either Rivals or On3 gives access to all Rivals and On3 content, but not to the individual team message board for the site that you don't subscribe to.

So for a InsideNebraska guy like me, I can see all On3 content, but I can't go on the RedSeaScrolls, as Callahan owns that and I didn't pay him. Not sure if I'll be able to read Nebraska specific article on On3 or not.

So you will be able to keep Husker Insideher and have access to On3's content (not Dean's) without having to pay Dean? Sounds like a win/win to me.

I agree that it appears this will be the case. It reads like you get all articles and forums except those written on the fansites (DawgsHQ is the Georgia version of HOL).

Dawgwalk is the message board on Dawgs HQ

After going back and forth with Terry a little bit, I think you as a IN subscriber will be able to access On3 team sites as long as that team doesn't have a Rivals site. So for Nebraska, which has both, you will still be limited to Inside Nebraska and not be able to access HuskerOnline.

You will also have access to On3 National stuff (from Fong, Staples, etc), but you will not be able to access articles written by the local On3 staff, HuskerOnline.

That's the way I read it.

What this boils down to, apparently, is that there really won't be any change. The benefits of the merger will be you being able to access sites for teams you are not a fan of and national articles from both networks. Which to me... pretty meh. If you want access to both HuskerOnline and Inside Nebraska, you will still have to have two separate subscriptions, though Terry said they may offer a discounted sub in the future for people who do both.

agreed. also agree with the meh, the national stuff I don't really read on either honestly.

On3 national content, but not Nebraska content produced by the HuskerOnline staff.
Yeah that's what I was thinking. It will be a little bonus for the Nebraska Insideher guys to be able to access On3 content (not Dean's) and still not have to pay Dean. If you do want any HuskerOnline content you can listen to their podcast. Sounds like they talk about most of the same things they put on their site TT, etc...

If you subscribe to On 3, you can already access every fansite in the On 3 network and do anything except post. In Rivals you can get all-access for $50 more a year.
