Yeah I figure the waiter needs the $10 difference in 15% vs 20% more than I do.
IMO, if it's important to them, it's on them to act like it.I worked in the service industry for a number of years in my teens. I have what I would consider reasonable expectations based on having been a server. If those expectations aren't met, I will often still tip 20% bc I realize the importance of tips to their livelihood. I tip very well in general (often times above 20%). However, if you straight suck balls at your job, i'm going to let you know with the tip, or lack there of.

I’ve never felt like this at subway.I’ve stopped going to places that make you feel like an asshole for not tipping a cashier. Haven’t been to a subway in years.
