Would have been a good young guy to get. The only problem with McCollough is I think he only has one year left maybe two?
McCullough has 1 year of eligibility. Sounds like OU tried him at their hybrid safety/linebacker spot and it didn't go great, but if he can bring something off the edge for us situationally that's a nice piece to add

Gotta play for the now not develop.
You’ll just get a new guy next year if one of your recruits don’t pan out

one, I believe. To me, this seems to be the right choice. We have some young guys developing.
Hopefully it wasn't one or the other. Would have preferred to take both and keep building depth. But it's hard to know what their board looks like maybe we'll pick up another one or wait until next cycle.

In the 'new world' IMO it does not make sense to have too many development guys who don't play in the near-term. The revenue sharing money share per player goes down; that cuts access to top tier players.

Tough to redshirt and develop certain positions. I think OL/DL you have to try and develop a pipeline of HS players and keep them in the program. Skill players, pass rushers, you have to find them, play them as true freshman, pay them big $ in the portal, whatever it takes.
