I’m not sure if it’s been publicly announced yet so I won’t give details, but I think there is another 9 figure investment/development in the works down by the luminarium. All of the development in downtown Omaha with the new mall and riverfront has been really incredible.

A lot of unused space back there to the east of CHI to utilize.

Just don't build them as money makers. If you think they provide a public good of some kind go for it, but don't pretend it's a good monetary investment
Many people fail to see the broader economic impact than the stadium itself. Look at OKC's Bricktown. If you visited that city area in the late 90s, you would more than likely be mugged or worse. The former industrial hub of the city was mostly abandoned and left to rot. The city passed a penny tax to build The Brick, a AAA baseball stadium that sits empty most of the year, right in the middle of that depressed area. Building that stadium attracted new shopping, restaurants, and bars. If you look at it today, it's a vibrant area packed with shoppers year-round. Without the development of Bricktown, which started with that mostly empty baseball stadium, OKC never gets the Thunder or an NBA arena.

Was down in that area for the first time a few weeks back and was absolutely blown away over the transformation. My kids love the luminarium and slides by there and ice skating has been a great addition.

I’m shocked there are people who still bitch about building TD Ameritrade and keeping the CWS - that has to generate pretty decent returns every summer no?

For sure. Stadium has more than paid for itself by allowing us to lock up the CWS for another 20-25 years. We would’ve lost it without the new stadium.

OKC has plans to build the tallest skyscraper in the US.

Got a membership to take my grandkids. Great addition to Omaha!
