Just checked the academic calendar - last day to register for the Texas St Spring Semester was today.

Last day to add classes is 1/18.

also, it's hard to go to a stadium with crowds of 10K when you came from Arkansas. On top of that, he probably knows his future is as a WR regardless of how much he loves QB. He really, really wants to play in the NFL.

It is always possible, I think (I don't know the process), that he filled out whatever you fill out to get your name in the directory and it just took a few days to get there. I don't know

this seems to be what may have happened - but so far there is nothing that says he is actually registered there

Texas state stuff matriculated pretty late.
Was probably set to enroll and filled out the paperwork already for Nebraska
Texas state hasn’t processed everything yet.

Back in the day Darnay Holmes was in the student directory before his UCLA commit so it doesn’t always mean anything

he's already on the roster and the University officially announced him yesterday afternoon, so I think @Herbie was likely correct
