    Breaking JoBu Out

Gonna try to get back on track in this thread rather than arguing with Husker fans who think a DC that had us with the 11th and 20th ranked scoring defenses while he was here wasn't extremely good. It's why I think Nebraska fans are just doomed to be miserable if that's not good enough for us...

Bolded means we are done. Ridiculous concept.

Yes, the year we were 11th in scoring defense that INCLUDED that game. I love people that try to choose one game to prove a point instead of the 12 I reference. It's not very smart. Oh ya, are you talking about 54th in scoring offense Cincy? Sorry to leave that juggernaut out.

    Breaking JoBu Out

Well, he gave up less points which should have scratched your irritation.

Ya... if Tony White OK'd hiring a guy that said that, I'm fine with it. Otherwise you are hiring someone to take his spot or move on after a year, both not ok with DC White. Tony White at Florida State makes no difference to me, I care about how people do at Nebraska. People that bring up how...

You don't need to cherry pick stats. Should I start going in on how Butler had the luxury of playing HCU and Akron to pad his stats instead of playing OOC games with Heisman winners on them?
  7. ShortSideOption

    Breaking JoBu Out

Maybe. I mean we are 57th in scoring defense this year, really the only stat that matters compared to 11th and 20th in 23/24.

11th in scoring defense and 20th in scoring defense is not "extremely good"? Tough crowd. Surely you aren't comparing Tony White saying he wants to be a HC someday, and getting hired by Rhule who was HC to where Butler says he wants to be a DC "sooner than later" and our current DC not being...

    Breaking JoBu Out

See, that's what I think Rhule's thoughts were. White was already interviewing for HC jobs, so I think he was like "Tony is going to get one next year so Butler can step right up." White ended up having just as good of a defense in 2024, didn't get his HC job, so made a lateral move. We...

The 4-3 is really tough in today's football, it's why Phil Parker and Cockeye shifted from it and to the 4-2-5 right around the time we hired Frost. The 4-3 just has way too many checks and "rule breakers" with how football is played now. The 4-2-5 gives you flexibility to play faster. I haven't...

Good news is you wouldn't have to rely solely on them. You have RVP, Davis, Lenhardt, and portal adds with them to supplement.

I turned into "run the ball" guy in that Cockeye game a couple times. And I am NOT that guy.

Ya, I mean I get it hiring the best you can. But imagine Tony White being a pretty good DC for us and seeing this quote about the guy you didn't have a say on hiring coming to your assistant pool:

    Breaking JoBu Out

I am absolutely fine with him doing that for his assistants. But coordinators need to be Tony White, Ekeler, Holgo, etc. Guys with experience coordinating.

    Breaking JoBu Out

This is something I'm willing to listen to. Though I would say that we had two VERY good DTs that weren't able to get experience this year as true freshmen due to injury, one of which is Nash 2.0 (due to background and accolades).
