I really haven’t seen anything from him that suggests he’d be doing a better job with our current personnel than Butler.
He was fine, but I don’t think his departure is a factor at all in the Michigan loss.
I agree with this. I think he’s fine but not great.
And I also don’t think his defense would have done any better against Michigan, so that whole line of bitching was misplaced.
Games like this are what I think of when I think of Tony White as DC. He was good compared to anything we did under Frost, but people are only remembering the good and blocking out the bad.
If they lost, their fans would be saying they made mistakes like giving up a Hail Mary TD.
“I am frustrated we don’t beat better teams” is fair enough but it’s not the same as “this team beats itself” which is a dumb take.
We lost a hard fought game to a very strong opponent - that happens to basically every team every year, including often to Nebraska during the glory years. The reaction on here was ridiculous.
Every team beats itself using your definition. Missed FGs happen, players sometimes miss tackles. If every single player made every single play they theoretically could make, then you’d basically never lose. That’s not how this ever works.
Honestly unless a player is clearly a developmental guy who isn’t physically ready like a TE who is going to grow into a OT or maybe a QB where there’s no reason to play as the back up, I don’t see the benefit of redshirting in the portal era - play whoever can help
Absolutely not - and a lot of you who are out would literally have fellated Scott Frost after his 3 point loss to Michigan given the opportunity, so aren’t really a role model in my book.
Wasn’t Ernest Hauserman here and then he decided to transfer to Michigan?
And Zane Flores may be fine but seems like we’re doing just fine in the QB room, no?
I agree there have been a handful of Nebraska guys who succeeded at other programs that we didn’t try in earnest to grab but it sure...
If you flip every break that went our way then obviously we would lost. That 2021 team would have been undefeated applying the same logic.
The margins aren’t that wide in most Power 4 games.
Williams got pressure but he missed a lot of tackles - I think he graded out pretty poorly on PFF (for whatever that’s worth). I don’t really miss him much.
Not to say we don’t miss Nash and Ty but I just don’t see how they’re world beaters when Nash is what, a practice squad guy at the next level?
We could use a stout DT, but I really do think that’s leading us to wildly overvalue those two guys.
