I don't know where to start with this. I have been frustrated for sometime over what I perceive to be an lack of commitment from the athletic department in maximizing NIL funds. I believe the funds are there and the athletic department is not committed to doing what is necessary to free them up. I gave up my season tickets and quit donating last year. It wasn't a lot of money but it was enough that I think people would agree I have the right to express my opinion. Anyway, after what I'm witnessing with the portal this year, I spent about 2 hours crafting an email that I sent to the athletic department that was critical of their efforts at raising NIL and their overall commitment to pushing the envelope with NIL. Of course, no response.

I then posted a thread on RSS that pointed out several statistics with the AD budget and provided email addresses for points of contacts at the AD to contact if they, like me, were frustrated with the perceived lack of commitment. The thread was taken down this morning on RSS. I actually DM'ed Garrett about my efforts PRIOR to the thread being taken down and asked him to share on here to see if there was an organized effort that could be made to get more transparency and make the AD answer some questions about why we can't spend $40 million on a roster. Thread gone. Its funny that it happened. I copied the contents of my post because I had a feeling that may happen. I'll post below. But feel free to let Sean have it on RSS if you can as to why my thread was taken down. All of these fuckers are in bed together. As a fan that sucks. I know many don't like Rhule but I think he is the one person trying to push these assclowns to work harder and get the program with the times and spend money. He needs help from the fanbase.

Not sure I get all the hate. Sorry for posting it. I get it it’s a long. I used Grok to summarize my thoughts and to help give people an avenue to try to change what I perceive to be a problem. Based on posts and NU’s performance in the portal, not sure that I’m too far off. I have thick skin so carry away and take shots. I’m a fan and I care. I have put a lot of time and a decent amount of money into supporting Nebraska football. Instead of arguing for endless hours on a message board, I wanted to give others who are frustrated an idea on how to fix the problem.

I thought there were like minded people who cared and would be interested in trying to make a difference. Obviously, it wasn’t taken that way on here. I don’t agree that my idea is as crazy as is being insinuated on here. But I guess if you don’t know me personally, you may think I’m just some crazy guy typing away from a basement. Regardless, I won’t talk about it anymore on this forum. Sorry.

Unfortunately, most on here just want to look funny, me included at times. However, I read the post and would have concerns if I donated at a level where I had expectations tied to that money. Unfortunately, I do not donate to that level.

To give more credence to your post, if NU football was good, all other sports would benefit monetarily. Donations, for the most part, should be proportionally dispersed based on revenues brought in. Having said that, it could be argued that a commodity like volleyball could potentially generate more money that it currently does if they played in a larger venue, so it's a little tricky. The reality is that football funds the athletic department, and if it were a better product could better fund the athletic department than it currently does.

I have no idea what AD staffing looks like and how it ties into AD donations, but most entities run fat by design. I wish I had tangible solutions. It seems like it would be more impactful if you were to organize with other higher level donors to require change.
