Honestly - I don’t really know what anyone expected today other than what played out

- Horrendous matchup for us because Utah is a real football team with great line play and we’re not

- Lateef not it

- Best WR and RB on an already putrid offense opted out

- Defense hasn’t stopped a nose bleed once we played teams with a pulse

This year’s team will not be next year’s team. If it is, Rhule will be fired. Not even trying to cope or whatever, there will be 20+ new players on next year’s roster. Always love watching NU play but anyone who expected we’d magically be more competitive or whatever was expecting something not based in reality

I didn't think Nebraska would dramatically be better at all. But I did not expect the linebackers and secondary to be completely lost with coverage responsibilities.

I expected it to be a 34 -28 type win for Utah.

Dannen should meet Rhule in the tunnel to fire him asap
He's safe for 2026 but I'd bet my Utah winnings from today that he's not the coach in 2027.

My expectations for 2025 were to (1) improve YoY (2) not have embarrassing losses (3) punch above our weight for once for a win.

Did we improve? On special teams we did. On Offense we were inept once again in B10 play. Defensively it was a big step back.
Did we avoid embarrassing losses? No- Minnesota, Penn State, Cockeye, and Utah.
Did we punch above our weight? No - we are incapable of stepping up in big games. IDGAF about "close" losses. A loss is a loss. Scott Frost was capable of losing close.

Rhule is a nice guy and has great communication skills but he's in over his head here. There is no foundation he's built in three years. It's another offseason of hitting up the transfer portal for one year mercenaries. This is not how you build a program.

This thing is cooked.

Our admin is so dumb, they gave this guy an extension because penn st “called him” failing to see the product on the field and lackin the foresight of this happening, now theyre sitting here with their thumbs up their ass because the whole state is waiting on a lame duck coach again. Maybe it’s time we start replacing the board of regents that keep getting voted back in and make some changes at chancellor president and ad.

They’ve been the common denominator through all the losing. Unfortunately Nebraska is incestuous and will keep bringing in their friends or locals vs pros who can get anything done at a high level.

We’re not

We’re not cooked.

He made coaching decisions we only wish we had with Riley and Frost.

It’s a different game and our coach adjusts.

We’ll be fine.

The thing is, in my mind, even with the supposed NIL $ we have now and the revenue share $ why would guys want to transfer/portal here?

Facilities, yeah best you can find.
No clear cut look to be competitive. OL sux. Year 4 and still no competitive qb, ol, or rb for next year. An offensive coordinator that can't scheme up anything outside the first drive or two in a game.

Going on our 3rd defensive coordinator.

Unless they're just money seeking for a year nobody that has any inclination on bettering they're draft stock will come here.
Money and playing time aside from what you mentioned. Coaching not great everything else mostly first class except recruiting location.

That’s the problem. Why should he be safe for next year? That was embarrassing. He got out coached again but this time by a guy who coached his fist game as HC.

This is exactly where I’m at. We were matched up against a 10-2 team ranked 15th. You can argue all you want about them being a Big 12 team but they are a good team. We aren’t.

I think the only reason we got the bowl we did is because our fans travel well. There are other matchups we could have done better.

At the end of the day, we need a big overhaul in the portal. My fear is we can throw money at everyone. But the elite players want to play for elite teams.
