Not that it matters now, and my history is very "revisionist," but the seeding in the 90s into mid 2000s of the NCAA tourney was often completely out of whack. There were no metrics related to strength of schedule or efficiencies. The Huskers got some really bad draws:

In 1991, Xavier, with 2 NBA players including eventual lottery pick Brian Grant, were something like 20-4 that season with their whole health roster. They should've been closer to the 11 or 12 line on the seeding.

In 1992, the Huskers draw UConn, with 5 fucking NBA starters including Donyell Marshall and Scotty Burrell. That team spent 9 weeks ranked inside the top 10. But endured some injuries in early February to drop 5 out of 7 games. Nebraska was an 8 seed. UConn was the 9. The Huskers had ZERO business being seeded ahead of that UConn team. With today's metrics, that UConn team would've been closer to a 6.

The 93 team just flat out choked that season in their loss to New Mexico State.

Now.... 1994 is where the seeding was the worst. The Huskers, a 6 Seed, drew Penn, out of the Ivy League. Penn was 26-2 coming into that game. Their only losses were by 2 points at Ohio State, in fucking November, and by 8 points at Temple, a top 10 team that season for John Chaeney. In today's day and age, an Ivy League team with that type of resume would've been an 8 or 9 seed at the worst.

This Massey schedule didn't "recalculate" after the Illinois win.

It was exactly the same on Saturday morning. For instance, Torvik has Nebraska favored vs. Sparty, at Northwestern, Illinois, and Purdue.

Not sure the Massey computer is up to date at the moment.
