Football Rhule spending money like it’s his personal slush fund

Big Piss Tone wants us to spend less $ on our program. Let's halve our budget on the roster, coaches and support staff. Start bringing in frozen meals for the players to nuke instead of our training table, and while we are at it, dump the weight and recovery rooms. A dozen bowflexes and a couple good old jumper machines should do the trick. Well, maybe one universal machine, too.

Where is all this extra money appearing from to pay all these extra coaches and staff along with raises and extensions???? Seems kind silly when he’s fired at the end of next year when we have 4 wins. Many folks aren’t renewing their season tickets. Sick of it all.

It is nuts how bloated the coaching and administrative staff have become. Sure would be nice to see some ROI on all that spent money.

Not attacking you personally, but genuinely why do people care about this shit AT ALL?

Nebraska’s athletic department is like 6th in total revenue in the country, we’re one of the only schools that doesn’t take any public funds, we can easily fund rev share and are diverting $15m from our media contract to fund extra NIL. The money is not an issue at all and we should be spending top dollar to get the best assistant coaches.

Would people prefer if we continue to try to compete with one arm tied behind our back instead?

Where did we land on if HH is athletic or not?
Yes — Heinrich Haarberg is athletic. Here’s why most consider him to be:

  • He’s 6′5″ and ~230 lb playing for Nebraska Cornhuskers, which by itself shows he has a frame that many would consider athletic for football. ESPN.com+2Nebraska Athletics+2
  • He’s played multiple positions (quarterback, tight end, receiver, even special-teams and some running assignments), which suggests versatility and physical adaptability. https://www.ksnblocal4.com+2Nebraska Athletics+2
  • Observers and coaches have described him as a “special athlete” and someone who can “run,” showing speed and physical traits beyond just being tall. https://www.ksnblocal4.com+1
  • In high school he was not only a football player but also competed in track and field (sprinting, relays, jumping), which tends to reinforce general athleticism. Nebraska Athletics+1

If you like — I can pull up his recent athletic-testing numbers (e.g. 40-yard dash, strength metrics) to give a more concrete sense of how athletic he is.
