Agreed. Ideally at these G5 levels, I want guys who are actually getting home. Not someone who can't finish. I just don't see it carrying over to B1G play if you already only get close at the G5 level.

I don't hate a situational pass rusher - might be a spot for him. But my expectations about his potential impact are not high (at least until the sufficient amount of offseason kool aid).

For about 20 years I've been doing this programed spreadsheet for another pay site that I was a member of, last year I got tired of the ^&*(^)*&^ and left that site permanently.

I built a spreadsheet that allowed myself and others to see how many available scholarships there were, and to identify positions of need.

This portion of that spreadsheet tabulates how many scholarships are available while being mindful of the changes that the joint agreement with the NCAA and the plaintiffs in the lawsuit and their lawyers required (along with the demands that the Judge from the 9th District Court required). The problem is inherently the 105 requirement, which could seem as though that was an easy thing to do, but in fact had some rather thorny attributes, especially for a school like Nebraska which has had as many as 150 players on their roster.View attachment 63511

My opinion on how I would prioritize transfer portal:
OT - 1
QB - 1 (Assuming Dylan leaves; 0 if TJ leaves)
DL - 2
LB - 2
RB -1* (Assist to @Pepe Silvia) on the omission.

I think you roll at every other spot with guys already on the roster.

Are we only taking 7 players in the portal?

We need a lot more help along the trenches.

OT - 2 minimum
OG - 1
Center - 1 if its the right one with experience.
QB - 1 no matter what.
DL - 2 interior only unless there is a beast at rush end that we can't turn away.
LB - 2 need at least one natural ILB with experience in a 42
RB - 2. I think we lose at least two guys on the current roster. Ives and one other of the backups. We need a game breaker here and cant take the chance missing on just 1 portal guy.

We probably need to cut bait with a few of these upper classmen who simply aren't going to contribute in the near future. Sucks but this is a professional business now, and feel good stories and potential are irrelevant in this day and age.
