Because their coaches are Cockeye cork smokers who hate Nebraska and steer kids elsewhere. @Cornicator knows the story on those players.
Yeah, I've consistently heard that our coaches have been trying to work with them the last few years, but not getting much reciprocation.

Rob's a bit like a nagging wife who's gotta always find a bone to pick. I don't hate the guy, but gotta take his rants with a grain of salt.

Agree 100%. I had to stop listening. Always goes back to the 90s and other stupid shit. Then he can’t even accurately state which players or games on the current roster he’s talking about.

He makes some really good points but others you can tell he’s got a day job and just grabs snippets of topics.

The Jordan VanDeberg mention is the funniest. He played at Cockeye Western in 2020 and was a Penn State signee. Scott Frost still had two years remaining at Nebraska. And VanDeberg then suffered two bad injuries. The dude wouldn't even be playing football any more if he hadn't missed two seasons of football. He's almost 25 fucking years old.

Let me applaud any coach at IWCC or Dr. Rob if t they thought Nebraska in 2025 could've used a kid who was playing juco ball in 2019.

It really irks me how little we’ve utilized IWCC over the years and that doesn’t just go for football
I guess I'd be curious to see how many of the the guys that actually make it D1 from their end up somewhat close to home, and their overall production with the school that they went to, or if they transferred.

Not saying there hasn't been whiffs from there as I know Will Lee 3 was a ST LO, MO guy and was successful at KSU and A&M.

I also think of Van Ginkel too for Wisky

Nebraska definitely fvcked up that relationship from Bo to Frost.

But IWCC simply isn't getting the same caliber of athlete anymore. Loosened academic standards with the NCAA and the portal have made it easier for kids to go D1 and stay D1.

Dr. Rob is about as bad as Bill Doleman. Both think that NU is just a year off of the Osborne years.

Rhule better have a well organized portal plan in play over the next few weeks. While i understand the necessity for a smaller class, I can't really fathom why it had to be small to the point of signing only 9 players.
How many guys do you expect them to take in the portal?

91 roster spots are held by sophomores or younger. They’re going to have to cut a significant number of players to add from the portal to begin with.

I think they’ll bring in at least 10 transfers.

10?! Considering we will always get some second rate transfers that will never play, we need atleast 15 transfers to have a chance at being decent next year.

I said "at least"

I don't know what the strategy will be. Hard to bring in 20 top portal players while paying them and your roster.

Not many dudes on our roster worth much money. Lot of dead weight to cut.
Don't disagree but again the conversation started with "why only 10 commits".

Either way the roster is getting cut down. I think we'll know pretty quickly by how much.

It's small because Ahamd Hudson and Trae Taylors hogs are worth 5 roster spots each in 2027
