Breaking College Football Playoff Selection

The bad news is that the selection committee & process is a joke.

The good news is that nobody on the bubble has a shot of winning it all anyway.

The logic he gives is dumb, but how is bama not above ND? Bama has the best win in the country, and Bama has a second win better than ND best (vandy). ND is crazy overinflated compared to where they should be. SEC isn’t too overinflated besides A&M imo. Other SEC teams had to play a grind. Vandy didn’t play any of the top teams in the SEC and got punished for it. Hate to say it but the SEC just has more depth than the B1G.

It’s a valid point. Why play a tough non-conf opponent if it can only hurt you
Ohio State is in and probably a top 4 seed with a loss to Indiana because they played a tough non-con game. Texas wants to have their cake and eat it too where they'd get the benefits of a win but can't be dinged for the loss.

But again, we circle back to don't lose to a trash Florida team. That's the loss that's killing them.

If we took the logo off their resume, lost by 8 to Florida (not a bowl team), lost by 25 to UGA, had to comeback from down big to Miss State, and needed overtime to beat a truly terrible KY... Let's say no tOSU game at all. Wins over Oklahomah early, and Tamu late. That is not a playoff team imo. If you think it is I'm fine with that, but this isn't a resume that erased doubt of a bad team. TX got a gimme in 23. They are crying more than FSU that year at this point. Now, the tOSU game could've swayed CFPC to put them in if they had beaten tOSU, but they didn't.

The SEC is an overhyped machine. Their strength of schedule is inflated by teams who are fairly terrible. Bama in the last month of the season has lost to Oklahoma and had to fight tooth and nail against bottom feeder South Carolina and Auburn to pull it out in the 4th Q.

Ole Miss - best win Oklahoma, the rest of the resume is not impressive
Georgia - Good
Alabama - Good wins, but the loss to FSU has to be factored in. If they lose big to Georgia they should be out
A&M - Best win by far is ND. Best conference wins were LSU and Mizzou
Texas - Best win Oklahoma (yes, I think it's stronger than A&M), brutal loss to 4-win Florida; not competitive against UGA
Oklahoma - best win Alabama, no bad losses
Vanderbilt - best win ...?; Tennesse, Mizzou and LSU none of these teams were good, they were just propped up by SEC
Mizzou - best win Kansas, did not beat a single P4 team with a winning record
Tennessee - the only team they beat all year with a winning record was East Tennessee State
LSU - best win Clemson, next best win 13-10 over Western Kentucky

To me the only teams that should be in the playoff are Georgia, Oklahoma, and Bama.

A&M will get in based off of record, but their only good win was ND; therefore, Miami should be in too.

Ole Miss should miss the playoff due to the offensive staff, sans Weis Jr., gone.

I'm not going to be too bent out of shape over 5 SEC teams making it, but they are not as deserving as their records indicate.

I actually think that those "pretend" SEC teams like Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas are no better than Michigan or USC or even Cockeye.

They also beat two top 10 teams - something uga didn’t accomplish . Once again, had they played the sisters of the poor in Non-Con they’d be in the playoff. So why play a tough team in non-con?

lol @ you comparing Osu and Texas’ conf schedule. Are you always this retarded ?

It’s not really an overhyped machine when Vegas agrees. Also they are never punishing the loser of the SEC or B1G title game. If they ever do both will just take their ball and go home.
