It’s a marginal improvement. I’ll take what we can get.Meh. 8-5 is in fact better than 7-6. I will agree with you there. A lot better?

I do often fantasize about giving up all the responsibilities of life and just living in the subway tunnels
We won't go to the Pinstripe two straight years.Don't really care but preferably something other than Pinstripe. It's a meaningless game with a lot of players opting out on both sides. Good for younger guys to get some snaps though.
Will watch and hope we don't look like dog shit.
And there it, the prognostication of death.1. Utah is a Big 12 team. That's like adding a handicap in golf, even when playing a team like Nebraska from the Big Ten.
2. Utah's dominant run game is led by 2 first round NFL tackles. They both will opt out of a bowl game. Their center could as well.
3. Utah's defense is terrible. Its basically UCLA caliber. Any big 10 team with a month to prepare will score 30+ on those guys.

What kind of shitty bowl tie-ins does the Big 12 have where a 10-win, top 15 team has to play in the Las Vegas Bowl?
I care a great amount about Husker football. Go to every home game and multiple away games every year. There’s a difference between not caring about the bowl game and not caring about Husker football. However, you spend money and, more importantly, time on a message board about that team. So, by revealed preference, you do seem to care who we play or where we play.
We are so soft. Sucks...If the rumors about the number of guys we have opt out of the bowl are true, we’re going to struggle in a big way.

I can’t imagine you will have too many players who are healthy and plan to be on the roster next year opt out. There’s a limited list of guys I’d understand opting out, but some of the names mentioned aren’t on it…and some are guys who’re supposed to be here in ’26? Seriously? Either they enter the portal as soon as it opens, or the team culture isn’t quite what I thought it was.

Or everyone’s exaggerating about how many players will sit out. That’s how my brain works, which leads me to believe we’re going to have some guys we thought we’d have in ’26 playing somewhere else.

Utah will also have a lot of their players opt out & they’re a big 12 team. On top of that, the game just doesn’t really matter. We need to just expand the playoff & eliminate bowl games for good.Could be.
Rhule might be able to calm some frazzled nerves and get kids to mentally recommit to finishing ’25 strong.
That said, I don’t like the matchup with Utah…at all…regardless of who opts out.
Playoff expansion the last thing CFB needs.Utah will also have a lot of their players opt out & they’re a big 12 team. On top of that, the game just doesn’t really matter. We need to just expand the playoff & eliminate bowl games for good.

The more expanded the playoff gets the less likely a natty gets in our current situation. The more expanded the playoff gets the more likely a talented but underperforming regular season team wins it is. Example one OSU last year.I’d rather have NIL tie to participation in all games the athlete is healthy enough to play in. If a kid wants to opt out because he’s going to be a high draft pick and doesn’t care to play in the Cheetos Bowl, I get it, but all choices should come with potential costs.
I don’t really want to expand the playoff at this point. I’d like to see how the current format shakes out for a handful of years and see if we can ever get back into the conversation.
