New Mexico had just 40 players returning this year

Least in FBS and fewer than Baylor when Rhule took over

They went 9-3

Just another in a long line excuses for the gullible brigade to glom onto
Comparing transfer portal turnover to pre portal turnover is poor analysis.

Also, a 9-3 New Mexico is roughly the same as 3-9 UCLA or 4-8 Maryland. You can probably get away with large roster turnover in the MWC but it’s not a good formula in a P4.

He did not have a better track record of initial turnarounds

Obviously.
I don’t think that’s obvious at all. Fitz took over a 7 win team. Rhule took over an absolute shit show at Baylor. Also, as pointed out, Temple moved up to a tougher conference.

There are plenty of reasons to be critical of Rhule, I don’t think trying to downplay his time Temple/Baylor is one of them.

New Mexico beat UCLA 35-10 in the rose bowl this year

Good effort, though

Temple “moved up to a tougher conference”

Yet Rhule got boat raced by a MAC team in his first bowl game as an AAC coach

Funny

And the Baylor scandal had already happened when Rhule took the job. He willingly went there and accepted it knowing full well. Not much of an excuse.

I realize you think Rhule is gay lib or whatever, but this shit you’re saying doesn’t make sense and you embarrassed yourself with what you said about Baylor.

What did I say about Baylor that was untrue?

Rhule inherited 70 guys from the height of their entire program’s existence as his foundation there

And went on to beat zero ranked teams in 3 years

I know your glasses are smeared with Rhule’s shit from all the rimming, but get a wet wipe and then a clue, bud

Well the peak was was really 2013. The 2016 team (year before Rhule) was a far cry from the 2013, 2014, or 2015 squads, shown below.
