“Completely disappeared” apparently means making a great TD catch against Maryland, along with a massive catch on our game winning drive where be broke tackles to immediately get the drive going. It means 4 catches and 50 yards against USC.

He’s completely disappeared since TJ took over, because he’s not the primary read in the offense they’re running.

But don’t consider that. Trash the performance of one of our better offensive players, a guy who’s still out there blocking hard without getting any targets now.

It's been like this all season, some weird aversion to criticizing the offense which is statistically the much worse unit.

Half the Big Ten teams Minnesota has played held them to fewer points than we allowed, and half gave up more points than we allowed. Meanwhile, every single Big Ten team that has played Minnesota has put up at least 20 points, except Nebraska (6 points).

Saying we'd have won with a stronger DL is just dumb. We'd have won if our offense wasn't complete dogshit.

I roll my eyes at the critique of Butler (who I was opposed to promoting) while Holgorsen seems to avoid most of it. The offense, by all accounts, should have been the strength and has been atrocious at times. To me, Butler has overachieved given what he lost on the line. I put the lack of productive d-linemen on Rhule instead of our first year DC Butler.

The roster is loaded with very, very young talent. Cut bait with Rhule now and you’re literally starting over everywhere. Again.

Sure we’re young but I don’t see many NFL players on this team. Rhule has shown little to no signs of player development either, especially on the lines. It’s a dumb reason to keep a coach.

Agree. And the argument that a better defense would make the offense better is a chicken and egg thing.

A better offense would also make the defense better. They would possess the ball more and keep the defense off the field. They would have fewer three and outs and give the defense more rest. They would get leads and help make opposing offenses one dimensional.

The other side of the ball can of course influence the other’s opportunities. A better offense can make a better defense which can make a better offense. You can go round and round.

But through eleven games the offense just is what it is.

Some people can't handle the emotional ups & downs of fandom (particularly when there have been a lot of downs recently), so they build a shell of negativity they can retreat into to try & avoid the pain of being hurt.

His first class are sophomores this year, and that was a late class without a lot of juice to it. The other two are mostly RFrosh and true Frosh, so I’ll say again, if that’s your biggest gripe is he doesn’t have a sophomore on down who looks NFL ready, you’re delusional.

He took over a program in the shitter and he’s supposed to immediately recruit kids who’re going to look NFL ready in two plus years.

TJ runs the true freshman offense and gets through like two reads, so he’s not using a TE. Maybe you should criticize him?
