Rhule to PSU / Dyl-Gone Raiola Schizo Panic Thread

Maybe. I think they are both here next spring. I highly doubt TJ plays well enough over the next 3 games to make himself the guaranteed starter next season. Dylan still owns this team at this point. The only thing that would change that is if TJ balls out and we go 2-1 or 3-0 over the next 3 games.
I think the most likely is TJ struggles and they both stay as well but if TJ plays well one of them will leave.

I don’t disagree. He’s been pretty good but still disappointing when we were sold generational QB play & get middle of the pack qb play. I just think it’s a little early to throw him to the side considering he’s still improving and Lateef threw 15 passes and 100 of his 200 passing yards were EJ running with the ball. TJ wins the next 2 though & I’d agree, it might be time to tell Dylan bye.
Again, the offense was not exactly humming with Dylan. He was on his way to going 4 out of 5 games without passing for 200 yds. That is not a generational QB.

Dylan's M.O. was looking like: good series or two in 1Q. Absolutely putrid 2Q and 3Q. Then come alive at the end of the 4th Q to win the game.

I'm sorry but this is not Elite level QB play. And you can't blame this all on the OL either - Raiola clearly has made about 50% of those sacks happen on his own due to his really pocket presence.

Dylan is good when there is a script is my take away.
First couple drives are usually plays you worked on the strike fast. And every team has set plays for 4th q when they need to move fast.

2nd and 3rd q when it’s more free flowing and adjusting he struggles

Nobody is throwing him to the side. You have two parties rejecting him right now

1. prisoner of the moment taters (will always exist)

2. People who see the team on a spreadsheet (myself) and realize its moneyball. Dylan will be one of the 10 highest paid players in the country next year. If its here I don't think the team is that much better off for it. If he leaves the program feels the same way. Its the Nico/Tennessee issue. I would rather have 2nd year Lateef and spend an additional $2mm on the OL.

Edit - Like Nico, he's welcome to stay and accept what the team can pay him. If he was being tossed aside that wouldn't be an option. This year Dylan was one of the highest paid players in the country and we had seriously glaring holes that could have been filled by guys we got outbid for (future NFL starter Isaiah World)
I agree with this. I don't want to cut bait with Dylan. I'd still pick him over Lateef if you made me decide on 11/20/25.

But we're paying Dylan probably top 6 QB $$$ and he's definitely not playing to that level. He had the offense playing poor enough that we really could/should have lost the MSU game and the Maryland game and the NW game.

If we didn't have an elite level STs unit then we would be 5-5 now. I'm not anti Dylan I just don't think he's playing to the level of what we're paying him.

That's fair and makes sense. I mean Dylan is hurt and it's hard to be sidelined and watch your replacement do well. I do believe Dylan is a team player and is working hard to support Lateef as he wants Nebraska to be successful. Say what you will about Dylan, he is a competitor and has worked hard and has improved. He has shown to this point that he is very supportive.
How much fatter do you think Dylan has gotten with this walking boot on? Dom’s genes will be his undoing. They are just begging him to be 280 pounds.

I tried to go logical approach to a response here...you know diet will be managed, etc....however, immediate blurt of laughter in my mind agreeing, upon reading your post got me. lol

To point 2, when a large chunk of his NIL is coming from Adidas, how does that impact the rest of our NIL overall? Are WE really paying him that much out of our own pockets/NIL pool? I honestly have no idea how that works

His Adidas contract is from circa April 2025.
