I Get it, Ole Miss doesnt want to be left screwed if he coaches multiple playoff games and is leaving anyway, and then they are way behind on a coach search. But its crazy that Ole Miss has a shot at winning a title and would kick the HC out before a playoff game.

I'd agree on top 4 - Georgia, Ohio State, Texas, LSU. Hard to give an order. Singular flagship school in a recruiting rich state with a wealthy fanbase. Of these LSU is a clear #4 in NIL
Both won in days it was easier to stockpile talent fwiw. But the fact that they did and coach scissor lift didnt makes the job extremely attractive. Expectations will never be reasonable at LSU but now you don't have to win a national title in your first three years

I would applaud Ole Miss if they fired him for cause tomorrow. Every game left on the schedule is simultaneously the biggest game in Lane's career and the biggest game in school history. His job is to recruit Ole Miss. This is not just not doing your job. This is like not doing your job and making it harder for your organization to compete
I work in construction. If my top estimator or COO went across the street to another contractor bidding the same project and made a big show of spending the day there interviewing while we were prepping our best and final price I would question everything about their loyalty and committment. I would probably never trust them again. Especially if a golden handcuffs offer was on their desk
