Right, but we theoretically have a limited number of roster spots available

Unfortunately Georgia (6 DT commits) has already snagged the #1 Juco DT but he is only rated a 3 star so I don't know if there are others worth an offer.

Rhule doesn't seem to offer a lot of Juco guys. It looks like they are a little late to the party with these but still might be able to get some visits.

Juco's don't seem to get the attention the way they used to in the portal era. It might be smarter to go to a smaller school and work your way up. Like a NDSU or SDSU for example.

You notice how you don't hear about recruits that are academic risks as much anymore? Probably another reason Jucos aren't as popular as before.

Sorry, strategy seemed pretty obvious to me: Add more experienced players that you like to the roster.
I get the concept in general obviously, but my question was more aimed at juco vs transfer (both avenues to get more experience on the roster). Just don’t hear a lot about jucos these days. Not like the old days when half of KSU’s roster was juco guys.

Seems insane that they'd be able to retain 6 commits on the DL. Especially without a single senior in their 3-deep, running a 3 man base front.

@Dawgsauce you guys gonna bogart all the big boys? Wanna put in a word with Kirby to let Valdin Sone come to NU?

I'd bet it has something to do with money and timing. I'd imagine jucos probably don't demand as much as transfers so if your evaluations are similar, you look at the juco guy first. As for timing, I think maybe you want to see if you get any of the juco guys in the boat before the portal opens and then you have a more complete picture of what holes you still have.

Mongo had this little nugget on RSS today. The dude is always delivering the goods.

*** One question came up on the board, possibly in chat, about whether any Nebraska recruits could be re-evaluated. The short answer is: maybe.

I’m curious if it’s mostly guys who were not academic qualifiers in high school or just underrecruited coming out of high school.
