*if offered of courseI see this persepecitve. This is his dream job, he will take it.
Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Damon Benning seems pretty confident in his statement that Rhule is not interested in the job.I see this persepecitve. This is his dream job, he will take it.
Sandy Vag gonna grow exponentially next year fwiw hth gbrIf Rhule leaves it might be because of our schedule next year. Non con is easy but

Rhule would likely be someone who would even recommend Smith. He gave Smith his first college coaching job on his Temple staff.I mentioned this in a nuked thread. I think their interim coach, Terry Smith, will get offered the job before Rhule if he can go 4-2 with a win over Indiana or OSU. And imagine if they beat Nebraska. Are they really going to offer Rhule the job after he loses to their interim, a guy who has a stronger connection to PSU than Rhule?
Smith played there and has been coaching at PSU since 2014. He’s had the assoc hc title since 2021. If he pulls off a win over a top 5 team, or goes 4-2 with a win over Rhule, then how would their fans support Rhule over Smith? Would Smith stay if they bring in Rhule or would he feel like he was wrongly passed over for the job? If he beats Nebraska, their fans would have to think he deserves the job over Rhule.
If they keep losing and we keep winning, Rhule surely gets offered the job, so I hope Smith turns it around for them, but then it could be our showdown in State College securing the job offer for the winning coach.
why do you believe this is his dream job? Has he ever said that? He doesn't have a reduced buyout if he quits to go to PSU, which a number of coaches have negotiated for their dream jobs.I see this persepecitve. This is his dream job, he will take it.
I agree, and even if he had said it in the past, people should understand that dreams change when you gain perspective. Rhule seemed like a “grass is greener” type of coach before he went to Carolina. Not so much anymore.why do you believe this is his dream job? Has he ever said that? The only example I could find of him calling PSU his "dream job" was Adam Gorney saying Rhule told someone at Penn State that when he was on the Western Carolina staff (2002-2005). He graduated in 1997 and was a volunteer assistant at PSU in 1998.I agree, and even if he had said it in the past, people should understand that dreams change when you gain perspective. Yeah not so much that way. But I get the sentiment. Its his dream job where he calls home. I think even if he was OSU one couldn't blame him for taking it.We're such battered wife syndrome fans these days.
Agree though.
Maybe. I don't have any inside info. But I do know that PSU>Indy. It is what it is.I will say this until I am blue in the face, Cignetti isn’t leaving Indiana.
Not when you can just call up Mark Cuban for NIL. Plus Cignetti is 65 years old. I think he only leaves Indiana for an SEC job ie. Florida.Maybe. I don't have any inside info. But I do know that PSU>Indy. It is what it is.
I don't care how much money Indy has. They are not going to consistently pull athletes like PSU. Their's seemingly an endless stream of cash for players at every F'n power conference school with a pulse. Border line sickening. Actually way past the border. Going to be a crash at some point. Not when you can just call up Mark Cuban for NIL. Plus Cignetti is 65 years old. I think he only leaves Indiana for an SEC job ie. Florida.
I promise you, as long as Cignetti is at Indiana they are going to be a major player. He doesn't gain anything at PSU that he doesn't have at Indiana right now.I don't care how much money Indy has. If he's running from a schedule in what would be year 4, I'll drive him to the airportIf Rhule leaves it might be because of our schedule next year. Non con is easy but

He has a reduced buyout ($5M) if he takes another job anywherewhy do you believe this is his dream job? Has he ever said that? He doesn't have a reduced buyout if he quits to go to PSU, which a number of coaches have negotiated for their dream jobs.
That's not reduced. It's market, or even slightly above market. He has a reduced buyout ($5M) if he takes another job anywhere
