Cinci - More than Doubles Husker votes…

I think the narrative of Nebraska is pretty well established outside of our fan base and local media. Unfortunately that narrative is that our star QB is overrated because of cherry picked stats, and then the national media dies on their stances hill. Overrated becomes “not good”, and all of a sudden team performance means less. The negative sentiment directed towards us masks the reality.

IMO, we shouldn’t be ranked, yet. Im blaming the disparity in votes between a team we beat and us on that general negative tone of all topics on Nebraska which stem from the Raiola discussion. Like @Zack Carpenter pointed out in the Bud Elliott thread, the consistency in their argument is lacking. Which tells me it’s become tone rather than objectivity.

Also I hate when people think head to head matters over the course of a season.

Teams change. And head to head isn’t really a great indicator of which team is better.

If it was a true road game I bet Cincy wins that game

That night? Yes.

And as someone who is in Arrowhead that night, I argue that if the game had been played under the lights in Lincoln, Nebraska runs away with it. Here's why:

There was no Husker band.
There was no Nebraska pump up music.
Every break included Cincinnatti promos and commercials.
The Cincy band was playing.
Hell, the in game production showed the same Cincy fans on the big screen 3 dozen times.

It was actually kind of freaking awkward. If Nebraska gets up 13-3 in Lincoln, I think they win running away.

The same Nebraska team that went up on MSU 14-0 and almost pissed it away? That Nebraska team? What if they had played in Lincoln and it was windy? 👀

Glad we got the dub vs Cinci, but I think if you ask any impartial CFB fans who happened to watch the game from start to finish, most would not agree that the better team won.

Stop trying to bring transitive bull shit to your arguments. Its naive.

Satterfield wants to run a balanced offense, and his offense needs the passing game to work in order to compliment the RPO elements and the running game from his backs. Considering they seriously couldn't muster the forward pass vs. Nebraska, I'm going to say yes, they would've struggled nearly the same, and the Huskers would've gotten a shot of emotion from the home crowd to extend that lead.

I keep reading posts where ignorant fans will say, "Well if Satterfield had just run his QB more earlier vs. Nebraska, they would've won the game." There is a reason why they have one of the most efficient offenses in the country. Its because they want to basically run and throw the football at a 50-50 clip, 30+ for both. Nebraska made them one dimensional.

I bet the Huskers do something similar to Maryland.

I don't know about that. You can make an argument Nebraska was as close to pulling away as Cincinnati was to winning.

I seriously don't think that will happen. Here's why:

#25 Florida State hosts a terrible Pitt team - They will win that one
#24 South Florida plays a terrible North Texas team - they will win
#23 Memphis is on a bye
#22 Cockeye State plays a terrible Colorado team

#21 Arizona State plays at Utah - Arizona State could lose that game. Well guess what? If Arizona State loses to Utah, Utah is going back into the top 25. They're already receiving votes over Nebraska.

#20 Vanderbilt is on a bye.
#19 Virginia is on a bye.

I do think there is a possiblity #17 Illinois drops out completely after they play Ohio State. But they're also high enough in the poll that it might not matter.

Texas will beat Oklahoma and move back into the top 25. Mateer won't be back despite the stories like "Mateer Could return." That's just showmanship. Penn State probably beats Northwestern this weekend, and also jumps back into the top 25.

Would Nebraska be favored in a neutral side game right now vs. South Florida, Memphis, Virginia, Cockeye State, and even Illinois? Yes.

We 100% looked the better team vs Cinci overall. I don’t think it’s even up for debate.

So..Cinci receives more than double the number of votes to be ranked than Nebraska…Interesting.

Talk amongst yourselves.

Motivation for the players to believe they should drag their HOG over the dweebs from our nation's capitol.

Yeah there's definitely a dimension where we pissed that game down our leg but to say Cinci was the better team is delusional.
Completely delusional. Nebraska led most of the game, outgained Cincinnati 353 to 271, and dominated time of possession (nearly 40 minutes to 20). Nebraska didn’t turn the ball over once, whereas Cincy had 2 turnovers. Nebraska threw for 243 yards and Cincy just 69 (nice). Nebraska was 56% on 3rd down whereas Cincy was 30%.

Cockeye State could easily lose to CU and I hate CU...they literally have to ride with their backup secondary practically as their CBs are done. Youre starting to see the ramifications of NIL outside of the P2 or teams with large NIL funds in their depth. My neighbor is a huge ISU homer. He thinks they are toast because of how poor their secondary is past their starters.

@ChocaEgg loves to stir the pot.

A $100,000 is a lot of money for sports journalist. I think you offer end of year reward for
He has a little Lee Barfknecht in him it seems. Well, no he really doesn't. Lee was a dweeb and against the grain guy just for the sake of being a dumbass. If I recall he voted Nebraska #2 behind Michigan in 1997. Any Georgia or Nebraska fan knows that's not the case.
