I’m in college athletics and have some people who would be in the know first off. Have heard current players do not like playing for him at all. Spoke with former player at a golf outing last week. Learned he had played for Nebraska for both Anderson and Erstad so I was shooting the shit with him.

He offered up that Bolt is a “pos” and said he was back when he was an assistant at Nebraska. Said he hasn’t changed. I didn’t ask him to expand as he said it in a pretty aggressive tone.

He also said the talent they are brining in is just not good enough.

But this, along what I have heard from current players is interesting why, in my opinion, Nebraska is under performing in baseball.

Mike Anderson took over a premier, top 10 program in college baseball and ran it into the ground in a quick 6 years. 3 championships in 9 seasons.

Darin Erstad had 1 championship in 8 seasons.

Will Bolt has 3 conference championships in 5 seasons, while Anderson & Erstad combined for 4 in 17 seasons, and Bolt also has more high end draft picks than any other coach in the history of Husker baseball. But ya, they aren't bringing in talent. 😂

If Will Bolt is underperforming, you might as well shut down the baseball program. Goodness gracious.

This is far from "smoke" coming out of the program. Sounds like its a former player who just doesnt get along with one of his former coaches.

Now this sounds more like personal opinion. I really know nothing other than my own personal opinion, so I'd want to hear what you mean by current players as well then. Give us some examples. Because as has been pointed out, he has a hell of a retention rate for someone who is apparently hated by his own players in an era where all you gotta do is use the money the school paid you to hop on a flight in order to transfer.
