So not sure if you saw this but Metro Boomin started a contest that whoever drops the best verse to this beat gets a free beat from him. So everyone and their mom are dropping Drake disses. It’s one of the most brilliant things I’ve seen.

I don’t disagree that the basics of rap have been copied by other genres. Not sure what ‘rap won’, but that’s why most of what I listen to is older music.

How is indie rock aping rap? What about folk and bluegrass?

If you meant that rap has influenced pop music then you’re absolutely correct, but there are plenty of genres that aren’t influenced by rap.
