I do like the move to a 12 team playoff. Don’t think they should go beyond that though. Can't think of any other "improvements".

CFB Playoff Expansion

Not sure what 2026-2030 will be, probably a lot of changes.
2030 or so and beyond, I still see an AFC-NFC Superbowl situation happening with the B1G/SEC and nobody else gets invited. Once the ACC breaks up I think the B1G/SEC will set up a championship game between them and have their own playoffs for their college superbowl participant. That will make their television partners very happy who will then pay the B1G/SEC a whole bunch. I think that is where things have been headed for a long time. About 44 teams in the B1G and SEC and they basically make their own division.

I heard a stat earlier today that made me lose faith in Michigan doing much of anything significant this year
This century, only 4 true freshmen quarterbacks have led their teams to 10 or more wins as the starter in a single season

- Jake Fromm (UGA)
- Jalen Hurts (Alabama)
- Jeff Godfrey (UCF)
Just feels like the evidence says unless you have a mega roster (which Michigan doesn’t despite having some really really good players), 10+ wins (especially in today’s Big Ten) with a Freshman QB doesn’t feel likely. Which means, to me, they aren’t making the Playoff.
I cannot believe Klatt picked UM for the playoff.
Klatt is an idiot. Just loves to keep kicking Neb down. Mich isn’t going to win 5 games this year.

How would Miami and Florida St have first round byes?
Also no way Nebraska is ahead of Illinois right now. Illinois had more hype coming into the year and they've got a slightly better resume if you assume Duke and Cincinnati are equivalent teams.

Florida State wins one game and everyone is slobbering all over themselves. Time will tell if they’re worth all the love. Their schedule is pretty light going forward with Clemson and Miami being their only real tests. But at this point, I agree, a first round bye doesn’t seem warranted

Yes they changed it. It’s now top 4 ranked teams that get first round bye. It used to be top 4 ranked conference champs.
I thought that wasn't for a couple of years. They usually don't act this quickly.
