Went back and looked from 2019 to present at 11:00am OU games to see if there are any trends to follow with OU games.

Findings:

11:00am OU Home Team Games

• 2-2 Against the Spread since 2019. All 4 games OU was favored by at least 27 points. They failed to cover the 2 most recent OU Home games ATS, with 1 outright loss.
• 4-0 Over the Total Points

11:00am OU Away Team Games

• 2-2 Against the Spread since 2019. 2 games they were favored by over 23 points, and they failed to cover both, with 1 outright loss. 2 most recent games they did cover the spread, but those spreads were 5.5 and 6.5 points.
• 1-3 Against the Over Total Points

11:00am OU Neutral Site Games (Against Texas or CCG)

• 1-2 Against the Spread since 2019. Only game they covered was the 4OT win by 8 points (favored by 3) over Texas in 2020.
• 1-2 Against the Over Total Points. Again, only game they covered was the 4OT win by 8 points (favored by 3) over Texas in 2020.

Chins has fielded a good unit and OU has looked like garbage on offense.

OU also is in the B12, so they don't play defense by default.(haven't since the Stoops boys left)

Fair. But under Frost, we have only played 3 top 10 teams at the time of the game (all OSU) and we are 1-2.

Thing is we tend to make dumbass mistakes at critical points. I think we cover but barely, like 41-20 with a missed fg, missed PAT, and 1 td called back. I hope you're right tho

OU looked like dogshit against Tulane. They won't come out flat again. Our OL couldn't block a DL consisting of RGracheck, Wyldtard, Husker Pete, and BigCL24 on a good day...we'll be lucky to score 17 points. I think OU covers easily.

The problem is, if we were KState or Texas Tech or Wake Forest or Cal... or TULANE.. we could go in there with a low profile and maybe surprise them.

But since we're Nebraska they'll be up for that game and we'll probably get their A or A+ game. Oklahoma actually has 3-4 games a year where they don't look very good (still win usually). Oklahoma CAN be beaten. Problem is, we have to beat them at their A+ game. KState gets overlooked and gets Oklahoma at a B- level.

This is why it's much easier to do a rebuild at a place like Indiana or Minnesota, you have zero pressure and the opposing teams often overlook you. Nebraska, Florida State, etc don't get that benefit.

Ehh I understand what you are saying, but I feel like you are talking more from a fan and a history perspective. For current players, Nebraska hasn’t been good the entire time they have been in college (1 bowl game in 5 years). Hell KSU, ISU, etc. have been better teams than us the last five years. I doubt we have that much respect from the current OU players and the fact we are 22 point dogs gives them very little reason to be concerned about us other than that they struggled with Tulane.

I hope you're right! I've just seen a lot of CFB teams pretty insanely fired up to beat us... even to the extent I'm been surprised by it.

I keep going back to that Indiana game in 2019. You would have thought they were winning an NFL playoff game by beating us. And we were 5-7. But they celebrated that like that world was ending that day. The Indiana AD said that win was the most satisfying of his 20-yr AD career at IU. Again, beating a 5-7 team. Indiana actually upset #10 Penn State earlier that season. But apparently beating a 5-7 Nebraska team was a bigger win for them.

None of this makes any sense, I'm just saying that Nebraska (somehow) is still a high profile program and (somehow) beating us continues to mean a lot to some schools. I'm not saying Oklahoma will celebrate like Indiana did, I'm just saying, there's zero chance of getting anything other than their A or A+ game. Tulane got their C+ game. We'll get their A game though.

OU will go on dry. Special teams will shit themselves. Offense want do dick. And the D will wear down and the flood gates will open

The only way this game is close I believe is if Oklahoma shits down their own leg. They can win easily by 30 if they are playing up to their ability. We do not have the horses to stay with them for a whole game. A couple of our players go down we are fucked whereas OU can just plug in another guy.

And yes, NU still carries a lot of caches. Just like ND, FSU, and USC. Beating NU is not like beating KSU, ISU, TTech. Even when NU is down, they remain a big game for almost every team that has them on their schedule. It's not about the players remembering how great NU was, it's about the coaches that remember and get their teams ready to play for one of the greatest all-time football teams.

Nebraska thought we should get more games against Indiana, Rutgers, and Maryland instead of Ohio State, Penn State, and Michigan. Basically saying that the scheduling isn’t fair. Indiana took that as a dig, saying we didn’t respect them.
