We are broke!

This kind of thing will be happening everywhere. This will be the end of the facility arms race, so us being the last to build will be a big advantage.

A couple weeks ago Cockeye St's AD came out and said they will have deficit every year that's even bigger than their revenue share. Over the next 6 years they expect to be something like $150 million in the red

This whole thing is setting up for a split into separate divisions based on revenue in the next 5 years

Beyond any sports related issues, we are approaching 18 years on from the Great Recession which is around the time that fertility rates, by a lot of measures, dropped. Budgeting anything is a hell of a lot easier when the assumption that your pool of consumers is going to continue to grow and you can take in more revenue to pay your expenses.

So on the actual university side shit is gonna get real iffy and as you noted it's a pattern basically everywhere

Graduating in 2008 was fucking fun let me tell you

I know a couple faculty and admin staff at UNL. They were all told earlier this week that merit raises are on hold and there is a hiring freeze in various departments.

So I can understand why this was put on hold.

That would be a tough sell

Wouldn’t it be private dollars?
