He made a fundamental change to his delivery. Go watch him earlier in the year out of the wind-up. His hands were higher up throughout.
At some point, Childress (doubt Ty did this himself) dropped his hands. My best guess is this allowed Ty to connect his upper half (arm) with lower half (legs) so they were in sync with each other on a way more consistent basic.
When this change happened, I'm not sure but I just caught it today. And he was like this against UCLA in the B1G tournament too. Earlier in the year his hands were higher throughout (YouTube the LSU game to see).
