Illinois has clinched at least a share of the Big Ten regular season championship.

Games for Saturday - May 18
Minnesota at Northwestern
Illinois at Purdue
Nebraska at Michigan State (11:00 AM - BTN)
Ohio State at Rutgers
Florida International at Cockeye

The eight team field for the Big Ten Tournament is set, just seeding remains up in the air.

Illinois, Indiana, Cockeye, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State and Purdue are in.

Maryland, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern and Rutgers are eliminated.

Illinois has clinched at least a share of the Big Ten title. Nebraska can clinch a share and the No. 1 seed in the BTT with a win in the regular season finale vs Michigan State -AND- an Illinois loss to Purdue. Any other scenario gives Illinois the conference title outright and the No. 1 seed.

How Friday's results impact the postseason race
At-Large Bids
Illinois
took the series with at Purdue with a 9-4 victory Friday and will go for the sweep on Saturday. The Illini are 17-6 in Big Ten play and clinched a share of the conference crown. With an RPI of 46 and a title in the fourth-rated RPI conference, I like Illinois' chances.

Ouch! Maryland was one of the final teams included in last week's projections, with the caveat the Terrapins would improve their conference record with a home series win over Penn State. Not only did the Terps not win the series, but they were swept, losing 8-4 Thursday and dropping a doubleheader Friday 6-5 and 19-7. At 10-14 in the Big Ten, the RPI of 48 won't be enough to earn a bid.

Here is how the seeding for the BTT looks to shake out pending Saturday's results:

- Illinois win -or- Nebraska loss: Illinois #1, Nebraska #2
- Nebraska win -and- Illinois loss: Nebraska #1, Illinois #2

- Indiana #3 (lock)
- Michigan #4 (lock)
- Cockeye #5 (lock)

- Purdue win -or- Ohio State loss: Purdue #6, Ohio State #7
- Ohio State win -and- Purdue loss: Ohio State #6, Purdue #7

- Penn State #8 (lock)
