I've generally not been a person who would say no to an adventure. Doing stupid things didn't scare me but thinking about climbing Everest scares me. Was at a conference where a speaker gave a presentation on his ascent of Mt Everest. Was a real eye opener. So much crazy ass shit like crossing crevasses by walking on metal ladders that were laid across them. And in some cases it was 40 ft across and the ladders were tied together with rope. That would be a big ole Nope for me

Yeah zero chance. You could put a billion dollars up there and I wouldn't even consider it

The used to be a cat on tMB (D-6???) who summited six of the seven, but failed twice on Everest. His body - despite years of training - just couldn’t take the altitude.

An incredible accomplishment for those fortunate to achieve it, but yea … you’re going to see some grim reminders of the price paid by many.
